When Ty Walker breaks into Boyd Crowder's house, at one point he tells Boyd, "Let's just say I don't see you pulling thrill seeker hold-ups with a 'Born to Lose' tattoo on your chest." This is a reference to the scene in Heat (1995) when Neil MacCauley (Robert De Niro) tells Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino), "You see me doin' thrill-seeker liquor store holdups with a "Born to Lose" tattoo on my chest?"
After making a deal with Markham (Sam Elliott) Raylan tells Tim that "there's a certain kind of man" and repeats it twice. This is the same opening dialogue from The Big Lebowski and this dialogue was spoken by Sam Elliott.
At one point, Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) states to Avery Markham (Sam Elliott) - "Harlan, hell of a place to make your fortune." That was one of the tag lines to describe Deadwood, South Dakota in the series "Deadwood" starring Timothy Olyphant as Sheriff Seth Bullock.
