Warning: Spoilers
Jaime's partner suffers psychologically after shooting a perpetrator to death in a very difficult police situation. Nothing better to have Jaime as a source of comfort at this very difficult time.

I can't stand the mayor after this episode. He comes across as definitely someone to avoid when he wants Frank to dismiss charges brought by an officer against a trusted aide's boyfriend. This certainly has shades of the Rachel Noerdlinger situation in New York City recently. It's great how the writers keep up with recent events here in the city. What makes the situation more disgusting is that we see the mayor offering a pension sweetener to the police if Frank will do his bidding for him. It's still the same old back-room, dirty politics in action.

Resurfacing from witness protection

Dan Hedaya's performance as a former mob wise guy now in Witness Protection is the highlight of this Blue Bloods episode. Bridget Moynahan needs him to surface as a witness in another mob trial to put away an apprehended hit man. Of course it's brother Donnie Wahlberg and his partner Marissa Ramirez who have to babysit Hedaya. They have their usual running antagonism with the federal marshals. But in the end they work together and devise a most clever way to get him to court and back.

Vanessa Ray as Will Estes partner also gets to shine. A cop wannabe who is an Auxiliary Officer played by a really dense Max Adler alerts Jamie and Jenko to a drug deal in progress. Instead of staying back Adler decides to get in on the action and gets wounded and as a result Jenko has to fire as well, killing the perpetrator. It's her first fatality and she's going through a lot of angst. Good thing she has such a caring partner.

Vanessa Ray and Dan Hedaya are the reasons to watch this episode.

One of the episodes of the 2014-2015 season

This episode (Power Plays) was horrible. It was boring plus it highlighted Jamie and Eddie who are boring. I do not like the character of Eddie and to put it bluntly if I needed an officer of the law to come in an emergency situation I would be aghast if someone like this officer showed up. What were the producers of this show thinking. The entire storyline with her and Jamie is boring. He was much better in the first two seasons doing under cover work. I can't stand it when the two of them are on the show. They absolutely ruin a good show. I know the writers/producers are trying to have some altruistic character on Blue Bloods like Jamie but the storyline is boring. I'm not some gunk ho male either. I'm a female and I can not stand the Eddie and Jamie storyline. The two characters make me want to gag especially her.
