Towards the end when Walt is being held at gunpoint, the hammer on the pistol is seen being cocked, then shown uncocked, and then shown cocked again.
When Walt goes to the house of the gang of boys that were arrested for home invasion and drug dealing to question them about a recent robbery of ephedrine. Vic finds a gun and Walt says they are now in violation of parole. Those boys would be in violation just for living in the same house as they are forbidden to associate with other felons as condition of parole.
When Walt didn't know that Brandi Collette had committed suicide. Since that suicide happened in his County, he would have had to be notified because there would've been an investigation and autopsy since suicide is a crime.
Deputy Sheriffs in Wyoming must be certified as law enforcement officers prior to performing field work as was shown with Zach. By contrast, the other candidate Monte had attended a training academy, so he would have been able to do the work shown. To be certified in the state, Police Officer Standards and Training also requires that each individual be interviewed and offered employment by an agency such as a police department or sheriff's office. Once all standards are met, the individual must attend the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy (WLEA) for basic training.
In the scene, towards the end of the episode, the barrel of the pistol Rebecca is holding to the back of Walt's head can be seen to be solid, showing that it is a rubber prop gun.
In the office, when Walt is showing the deputy candidates the evidence from both armed robberies, Zachary states that the bullets are both 38 special projectiles, impressioned with 6 land, left hand twist rifling. The majority of firearms are right hand twist. Left hand twist is distinctly British. There are relatively few 38 special British manufactured revolvers. This would be distinctive, and make a stronger link between the 2 robberies.
