Undercover is a fish out of water black comedy. Chris is a modern policeman. Neurotic and out of his depth. Thanks to having a Greek uncle he has been sent undercover to a vicious Armenian crime family called the Sarkissians.
All Chris has to do is blend in and not get killed. His new handler Zoe is there to comfort him and keep him out of trouble but she seems to be out of depth herself.
In the first episode Chris and the various henchmen need to find a crooked accountant who has been stealing from the family. Chris fingers the wrong man because he was politically incorrect and did not laugh at Chris's unfunny joke. Now Chris has been tasked to bump him off.
I would not say this was a laugh out loud first episode. The Sarkissian men look inept, it is only Lara who is both glamorous and manipulative and who Chris is smitten with. Daniel Rigby makes a spirited effort as Chris.
However satellite channel Dave should be applauded for commissioning some original programs.
