"Good Enough" and Then Some
Moviegoer1916 June 2019
I wasn't going to write a review but as no one else has I feel I must. I find it fascinating that there are no reviews; I assume it's because not that many people have seen it...? Anyway, starting with the title: it's a phrase that attracted me. As someone who's been on both sides of the therapist's couch, I can attest to the words "good enough" being discussed on many occasions, particularly when complaints or negativity are being aired. I don't remember where or when the phrase came up in the film, but I'm assuming it was said by the main character (who I've learned also wrote, directed and produced the film) to give voice to her mood, or else to something that was going on about which she wasn't very happy.

It's kind of a strange film. As I try to make sense of it in order to write this, I'm thinking that it was sort of blah, not terrible, not wonderful, but, yes, good enough! That's how everything was in the film: the characters, the story line, the mood and settings, the ending: all rather calm despite some troubled emotions and interactions. I found it to be the kind of film that's interesting enough to keep watching while doing other things at the same time. (If a film is very engrossing it will have my undivided attention.)

Ultimately, I chose to rate it a 7 instead of a 6 because I admire the young woman, AnnaRose King, for creating and putting it all together and doing a more than "good enough" acting job in the role of Lorna. She deserves a whole lot of credit and certainly, good reviews.

I guess the name says it all

Warning: Spoilers
There was a lot going for this film. Both the lead actors were charming and a pleasure to watch. The film though had a major flaw. . . and that was in the theme. . . the search for a missing relative. The heroine says she went to an online ancestry search site. If she had done that she would have been looking for only ONE Chuck Flynn. An ancestry site would have narrowed her search down to one specific birth date with one specific set of parents, and one specific birth place. Even if she did not know where he was now, she would have had some basic information on him.

Slowly developing indie about the search for yourself
onreact24 January 2024
In the society we live in we are never "good enough". There is always something we need to do, buy or fix to improve ourselves.

The young female protagonist of Good Enough has a good enough life yet she also feels that something is missing.

What is that she misses? It seems to be family. After her estranged dad dies she frantically attempts to find his brother to reunite with the family she did not know she even had.

Along the way and due to many failures she may find out something about herself as well. Maybe she will realize that she's good enough? Who knows.

This is a slowly developing indie about the search for yourself and who you are. Who are you? Do you know for sure?

Are you your name, family, relationship, job or whereabouts? Are you good enough? Maybe this movie will help you a bit. Do not expect anything spectacular though.

Enough to send you asleep

An utter bore.

AMBb requires more words. OK here we go.

No story lie, characterisation and acting is flat to say the least. Setting are boring.

Boring

About as boring as sitting in an airport lounge for hours which is the most common scene in the film!

Wasn't Good Enough

The title makes no sense. Throughout the movie I was expecting something wonderful or interesting to happen. Nothing wonderful or interesting ever happens. Do you want a movie to put you to sleep. This movie will do it for you.
