Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is a monster television series created by Chris Black, who also developed the series with Matt Fraction. The Apple TV+ series is based on Godzilla and serves as the sixth installment in the MonsterVerse. It revolves around the members of an organization called Monarch and it spans over three generations and almost half a decade. The main story follows the events after Godzilla and MUTOs epic battle in 2015 that destroyed San Francisco.
The new Apple TV+ series will finally shed light on the mysterious Monarch organization, and with that, we will also see how humans reacted to the discovery of Titans and how they continue to react.

This Star Wars: The Bad Batch article contains spoilers.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch, the new animated series airing on Disney+, picks up where The Clone Wars left off. Order 66 has left the Jedi Order in shambles and the Republic has been re-organized into the Galactic Empire, with Palpatine declaring himself the ultimate ruler of the galaxy. For the Bad Batch, a squad of clones with genetic mutations, life with the Clone Army will never be the same.
Those wondering what happened to the Bad Batch after Order 66 got their answer in the series premiere. But while “Aftermath” revealed a few things about the state of the galaxy directly after Revenge of the Sith, it also introduced quite a few mysteries that need answers. Fortunately, we can answer a few of them, while others remain elusive.
Here’s what we know as well as some theories as to what might...

The Bad Batch is the newest animated chapter in the Star Wars saga. Set immediately after Revenge of the Sith, the show explores the rise of the Empire from the perspective of a group of “genetically mutated” clones who never fit in with their own kind and fit in even less after Order 66. Unlike the rest of the Clone Army, the members of Clone Force 99 (the official designation of the group nicknamed “The Bad Batch”) are unaffected by the secret inhibitor chips implanted in their brains, which quickly puts a target on their back, especially after they refuse to execute Jedi on the battlefield.
Clone Force 99 find themselves in the middle of a sea change they don’t fully understand, as Palpatine declares himself Emperor and the Clone Army turns evil. To make matters worse, Admiral Tarkin (the future Grand Moff of A New Hope) sees the clone forces as...

Warning: The following article contains spoilers from “Aftermath,” Episode 1 of the Disney+ animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch
Here’s a big deal for fans of the Dave Filoni-created Star Wars animated canon: An old character made an appearance on the first episode of the new Star Wars animated series The Bad Batch which dropped in the middle of the night. And, it’s the Freddie Prinze Jr. voiced Star Wars Rebels character Kanan Jarrus. Except here, he’s known by his padawan name Caleb Dume.
Jarrus was a Jedi Knight and the leader of the Ghost crew on Rebels. During Kanan’s run on the series, he is blinded by Darth Maul, the dark Jedi introduced in the 1999 feature Star Wars: Episode I, The Phantom Menace.

The newest Star Wars hero is a bit of a mystery. Omega, a young clone who joins the titular heroes in The Bad Batch, is a mix of audience surrogate and riddle. She’s eager to join the fight, and has some skills of her own, but she’s obviously not cut from the exact same cloth as the other clones. That serves her well as she escapes Order 66 from the clones’ side, with her and the Batch some of the few residents of Kamino who don’t go all-in on the Empire’s slaughter. So, who is Omega, really?
At a press conference held over Zoom last week, lead The Bad Batch actor Dee Bradley Baker described Omega’s relationship with the other clones of the Bad Batch as familial. “It’s a fascinating relationship that unfolds,” he says. “Because...

While the Star Wars Original Trilogy has been explored thoroughly for more than 40 years, the period between the Prequels and the Originals is less well-trodden. Following in The Clone Wars and Rebels‘ footsteps, The Bad Batch takes a deep dive into the rise of the Empire. This means we get to see familiar characters, planets, ships, and technology in a moment of transition, as a Republic becomes something more twisted and sinister in the hands of the Sith.
Unsurprisingly, “Aftermath,” which is directed by Steward Lee, Saul Ruiz, and Nathaniel Villanova, and written by Jennifer Corbett and Dave Filoni, is full of connections and nods to other parts of the Star Wars universe.
Here are all of the Star Wars easter eggs and references we spotted in this episode:

Based on the DC comic book by Jeff Lemire, “Sweet Tooth” will globally premiere on Netflix on June 4.
The eight-episode series takes place years after “The Great Crumble” changed everything. A hybrid deer-boy befriends a wandering loner and together they embark on an extraordinary adventure through the dangerous, but lush world left behind in order to find the meaning of home.
“We wanted to make a show that offers escape and adventure, where nature is reclaiming the world and in many ways it feels like a fairytale,” writer, executive producer and director Jim Mickle said. “‘Sweet Tooth’ is a new kind of dystopian story, it’s very lush and hopeful. We want people to come into this world where there’s beauty and hope and adventure. This is a sweeping story — we ride on trains, climb mountaintops, run through forests. This is a show about what makes a family, what home really means,...

This article contains Cobra Kai season 3 spoilers.
Cobra Kai season 3 brought back several beloved characters from the original Karate Kid movies including Daniel’s first two loves, Ali (Elisabeth Shue) and Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita), Daniel’s second major nemesis Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) and many more. In the process, however, season 3 also left some Cobra Kai characters on the sidelines. Fans sorely missed Aisha Robinson (Nichole Brown) and Raymond a.k.a. ‘Stingray’ (Paul Walter Hauser). Aisha has been part of the series since the beginning. She was the first female student of Johnny’s (William Zabka) Cobra Kai Dojo. Stingray first appeared in season 2 and has been the oldest Cobra Kai student so far.
Aisha is dismissed within the season 3 premiere episode ‘Aftermath.’ There’s a curt explanation that her parents moved her to private school after the catastrophic fight at the end of season 2. That seems appropriate. Given the damage to the student body,...

Timothy Olyphant makes his Star Wars debut in The Mandalorian season 2 as a very minor character from the Star Wars Expanded Universe that no one ever expected to see in live-action. The character in question is Cobb Vanth, a mysterious figure who was first introduced in the Aftermath series of novels that take place just after Return of the Jedi. Cobb appears in interludes in each of the three books, and they chronicle his adventures as the marshall of a Tatooine settlement called Freetown, although the small mining town is referred to by its original name, Mos Pelgo, in the live-action series.
Much of Cobb’s backstory remains unclear, in part due to the fact that author Chuck Wendig tells the lawman’s tale from the point of view of other characters. In Aftermath, we meet Cobb through the eyes of Adwin Charu,...

Mortal Kombat 11 is just one of many current-gen titles making the jump to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 next month, though unlike its fellow developers, NetherRealm Studios has taken the opportunity to create even more new content for the acclaimed fighting game to coincide with next-gen. Currently on course to arrive in mid-November, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, as the name suggests, includes all content so far released for the series’ eleventh installment, including characters, stages, cosmetics and even this year’s Aftermath story expansion.
That’s in addition to a raft of technical improvements, such as native 4K on consoles, sharper textures and drastically reduced loading times, which will be accompanied by yet another batch of all-new roster additions. In case you somehow missed last week’s announcement, Kombat Pack 2 contains three combatants, this time split between two returning characters from previous entries and one further guest star.

In case you hadn’t heard, NetherRealm Studios is teasing something quite big indeed for Mortal Kombat 11.
The fighting game, which recently achieved the outstanding milestone of 8 million copies sold across all available platforms, continues to prove its staying power among fans of the series, to the extent that there appears to be no end in sight for the addition of post-launch content. Despite many being of the assumption that this year’s Aftermath expansion was intended to be the final addendum to an already content-packed experience, more is now all but guaranteed to be on the way. Earlier this week, game director Ed Boon confirmed that a special announcement was inbound and, thanks to a subsequent teaser trailer (seen below), we now have a solid Eta of when to expect a full reveal.

Mortal Kombat 11‘s gigantic roster is due to expand even further in the near future, it would seem.
Following the release of several Dlc characters last year, developer NetherRealm seemingly tied up all remaining loose ends for the title back in April with Aftermath. The expansion, which added a handful of additional fighters, including Fujin, Sheeva and 80s movie icon RoboCop, also marked a first for the series by introducing all-new story content – an extended epilogue, of sorts, taking place directly after Kronika’s defeat in the base campaign.
Had director Ed Boon and his team decided to close shop, so to speak, and pursue other projects following the delivery of Aftermath, it’s unlikely any fans would have batted an eyelid, but it now looks as if the studio still has more love to give MK11 before considering its work to be done. Sony’s clearly feeling charitable as of late, as the company is currently running two massive, store-wide sales for all PlayStation 4 owners.

How it works is simple: any title included in the aforementioned promotion will be discounted by a certain amount (exact percentages differ on a case by case basis). If you have Ps Plus, the listed markdown is doubled, meaning, for example, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare‘s Digital Pro edition will be reduced from 35% off to a whopping 70%.
In addition to the above, a separate, more budget-focused batch of games are available for less than $20. Check out the lists...

Disney+’s critically acclaimed Star Wars live-action series is back! The Mandalorian season 2 will see the return of our favorite bounty hunter with a heart of gold on a search for Baby Yoda’s home. As the trailer for the second season teases, it won’t be an easy path for Mando and Baby Yoda.
Check out the trailer below:
“The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire,” reads the description for season 2, per a press release.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, and Giancarlo Esposito. Season 2 will also feature quite the list of big-name Star Wars characters. Rosario Dawson will play The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series favorite Ahsoka Tano, bringing the beloved Jedi character to live-action for the first time.

There’s a steel guitar solo on Elizabeth Cook’s new album Aftermath that sounds like no steel guitar you’ve heard before. Snaking and shimmering rather than twangy and weepy, the solo on “Perfect Girls of Pop,” played through a flanger pedal, is more Giorgio Moroder than George Jones. It’s only 30 seconds in length, but that brief transcendent journey drives home the point that this LP — Cook’s sixth — is far from the traditional country music of her past.

Mando and Baby Yoda are set to make a comeback in October. According to Lucasfilm, Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian will premiere on Oct. 30 on Disney+. It’s unclear at this time how many episodes will make up the new season.

The series, which is set five years after Return of the Jedi and the fall of the Empire, will pick up where the first season left off, with the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) on a journey to find where the mysterious, Force-sensitive Child came from. But the beloved’s duo galactic search won’t be easy.
After all, what remains of the Empire, led by the evil Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), wants the Child for its own sinister purposes (likely something to do with Emperor Palpatine’s Final Order plan). We learned in the season 1 finale that Gideon had survived his fight...

Star Wars has already addressed how Palpatine survived his fall at the end of Return of the Jedi, but we still don’t know why Luke wasn’t able to feel his presence through all those years.
As the official novelization for The Rise of Skywalker revealed, Palpatine was working on a contingency plan in case the Empire fell. When Luke and Vader duelled each other on the second Death Star, the Sith Eternal was constructing a new body for Darth Sidious on Exegol. When the redeemed Anakin Skywalker threw his master down the reactor shaft, Palpatine used the remainder of his strength to transfer his subconscious to the new body. Alas, the phantom Emperor was too weak to do anything at the time, so he bided his time and slowly regained power and influence across the galaxy.
But how did he elude Luke for so many years? Well, in Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy,...

The Eighth(!) installment of the Sniper film series, Sniper: Assassin’s End is a sequel to 2017’s Sniper: Ultimate Kill and sees Special Ops Sniper Brandon Beckett (Chad Michael Collins) is set up as the primary suspect for the murder of a foreign dignitary on the eve of signing a high-profile trade agreement with the United States. Narrowly escaping death, Beckett realizes that there may be a dark operative working within the government and partners with the only person whom he can trust, his father legendary Sniper Sgt. Injustice: Gods Among Us, the first game in NetherRealm Studios’ superhero fighting series, is now free to own and play for all Xbox owners, it would seem. As spotted by Wario64 over on Twitter earlier today, the deal requires no previous membership or subscription, so even those who aren’t currently an Xbox Gold member can take full advantage of this particular promotion.
While it was originally released for the 360 back in 2013, the availability of backwards compatibility on Xbox One means the title can be played on either console and the good news doesn’t end there, either. All Dlc, including various additional costumes for the likes of Green Lantern, Cyborg and Bane, are all able to be picked up for the low, low price of absolutely nothing. So, what are you waiting for? Get downloading now!
As of writing, it’s not immediately clear if Microsoft intends for Injustice...

Despite feeling like a lifetime ago, Mortal Kombat 11 has only been out for a little over a year. In that stretch of time, though, NetherRealm Studios has constantly been tweaking their flagship fighter and adding new faces to the roster. And while I enjoyed it enough originally, it’s certainly not a stretch to say it has been improved considerably. With the first Kombat Pack was completely rolled out, I assumed the studio would jump right into a second set of Dlc fighters. Ed Boon zigs when you think he’s gonna zag, though, which is how we instead ended up with Aftermath.
A full-fledged expansion, Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is technically comprised of two parts. The first, and the one you have to pay for, includes three new Kombatants, additional costume drops, and a brand new story addition for the MK11 saga. The other part of it is a...

Ever since making his return to acting following a stint as the 38th Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger seems to have been having more fun than usual, as well as attempting to branch out and tackle the kind of roles that were a rarity during the height of his success as one of the biggest movie stars the business had ever seen.
His comeback vehicle The Last Stand is a sorely undervalued gem, while his tongue-in-cheek cameos in The Expendables franchise saw him having an absolute blast as his character Trench turned out to show more self-awareness than his Terminator ever could. Obviously, the big Austrian has also reprised his signature role twice in Genisys and Dark Fate, but following the fourth disappointing sequel in a row, it appears as though the franchise may finally be done for good this time.

Although he never quite enjoyed the celebrity status of fellow bounty hunters like Boba Fett, Corellian mercenary Dengar is one of the original stars of Star Wars‘ criminal underworld. Movie fans might only recognize Dengar from the famous bounty hunter line-up scene in The Empire Strikes Back, but those who have delved into the Expanded Universe of books and comics have probably seen the character pop up a few times since 1980.
In the now non-canon Legends timeline, Dengar’s further adventures were explored in Marvel’s classic Star Wars comics as well as books like The Mandalorian Armor by K.W. Jeter, which shows how Dengar nursed a severely wounded Boba Fett back to life after the events of Return of the Jedi. Another trailer for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath has landed with a thud, this one putting new Dlc fighter RoboCop front and centre. The footage, narrated by Johnny Cage, shows off some of the moves the cyborg law enforcer will bring to the table, and they’re set to delight fans of his 1987 movie.
Highlights from the clip include Alex Murphy taking out Mortal Kombat‘s usual suspects with his trusty Beretta m93R machine pistol, that spike he ejects from his knuckle and the missile launcher he took out Ed-209 with. And speaking of Ed-209, he makes an appearance, too, blowing an opponent to smithereens in a Heroic Brutality.

As it turns out, the wiping out of all existence and Liu Kang’s ascension to godhood in order to begin it all anew at Mk 11‘s climax wasn’t the ending NetherRealm had ever planned to leave fans stewing over until the inevitable sequel, with Aftermath primed to pick up the time-bending story exactly where it left off last year.

Three new fighters are scheduled to join an already expansive roster this time around, with Mortal Kombat mainstays Sheeva and Fujin accompanied by yet another guest combatant, RoboCop.

Last week, NetherRealm Studios opened some eyes with the announcement trailer for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath. RoboCop is just the latest of the many intriguing guest characters who have joined the Mortal Kombat roster through Dlc. Mortal Kombat 9 had Freddy Krueger. Just when we thought NetherRealm couldn’t possibly make its flagship fighting game franchise any more comically violent, along comes Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath to once again prove us all dead wrong.
First revealed earlier this month, Aftermath is a full-fledged expansion to the series’ 11th installment that promises to add so much more than ‘just’ a bunch of new playable characters. There are, of course, plenty of those in the form of Mk mainstays Sheeva and Fujin, and the pair are joined by yet another guest character in the form of RoboCop. The crime-fighting cyborg joins fellow 80s action star alumni Terminator later this month and, thanks to the release today of new gameplay showcasing Aftermath‘s content, you can even see the two go head-to-head in gorgeously gruesome Mortal Kombat. Check it out for yourselves above.

Fighting game old and busted: Dead or Alive 6.

There are a lot of neat things that will come with this Dlc, such as a new cinematic storyline, new stages, the return of Friendships, and a handful of new characters. Characters like Sheeva the Shokan warrior queen and Fujin, God of Wind.
The biggest news is that those two will be joined by RoboCop. Yes, the protector of future Detroit and occasional alter ego of Colonel Sanders is on his way to Mortal Kombat.
I’ll buy that for a dollar! Or forty of them, since that’s the going price for the upgrade.

It’s been just over a year since the release of Mortal Kombat 11 and not only was it a solid game, but it brought forth some entertaining Dlc with Kombat Pack 1. Over the last year, we’ve seen Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Terminator, Sindel, Joker, and Spawn enter the fray. Usually, that means a bit of a wait until Kombat Pack 2 would give us more characters and then NetherRealm Studios would call it a day and move on to the next game.
Well, yes, we are getting more characters, but there’s more. A whole lot more.
Mortal Kombat 11’s Story Mode ended in a way that felt pretty conclusive. Essentially, villainous Kronika was trying to reboot reality completely so that Raiden never existed. Raiden merged with two Liu Kangs from different eras to create Fire God Liu Kang, a being powerful enough to foil Kronika’s plans and destroy her.

The word ‘friendship’ is unlikely to spring to mind when one thinks of Mortal Kombat – a video game franchise known for its brutal fights and bone-crunching Fatalities.
And yet, with the forthcoming Aftermath Dlc for Mortal Kombat 11, developer NetherRealm Studios is delivering some of the funniest, friendliest content ever seen in an Mk game. Think Scorpion saying “get over here!” to a life-sized teddy bear.
Yes, it’s Mortal Kombat all right… but not as you know it. Of course, there are still plenty of crowdpleasers peppered throughout the Aftermath content drop (release date: May 26th), after NetherRealm took to PlayStation Blog earlier today to detail exactly what fans can expect in three weeks’ time. And if you haven’t seen today’s blistering trailer, give yourself three minutes, pull up a chair, and enjoy some cutting-edge fighting game content.

And yet, with the forthcoming Aftermath Dlc for Mortal Kombat 11, developer NetherRealm Studios is delivering some of the funniest, friendliest content ever seen in an Mk game. Think Scorpion saying “get over here!” to a life-sized teddy bear.

Following weeks of speculation, leaks and teasers, NetherRealm Studios has finally unveiled what’s next for Mortal Kombat 11.
Officially titled Aftermath, the expansion not only delivers on expectations of further new characters, but a continuation of the base game’s time-traveling narrative, too. Picking up directly after the conclusion of Mk 11‘s story, players will be tasked with rewriting history and reestablishing its flow as the newly-ascended Liu Kang. With Kronika’s crown destroyed (and the ability to shape time as one sees fit gone along with it), Kang is left with no other option than to forge an uneasy alliance with evil sorcerer Shang Tsung and a raft of other familiar faces.
Confirming those rumors we’ve been hearing for a while, new playable characters joining the fight include Fujin and Sheeva, as well as an additional guest character, RoboCop. You can see the trio in action for yourselves via the trailer above.

Evanescence have previewed their first album of original music in nine years with new single, “Wasted on You.” The group’s fifth album, The Bitter Truth, will be released later this year.
“Wasted on You” starts off slow and soulful, with singer Amy Lee detailing a relationship that keeps pulling her under. “I don’t need drugs/I’m already six feet low/I’m wasted on you/Waiting for the bitter truth,” she belts in her signature soprano. The song builds heavier and heavier, with the full band bringing...

While Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hardly had any screentime to delve deeper into the structure of the Sith, Disney took the opportunity with the official novelizations to amend one of their past mistakes.
Of course, we’re referring to countless characters and stories from the Expanded Universe that are now deemed non-canon under the branding of Legends. By making this choice back in 2014, the Mouse House essentially restricted the continuity of Star Wars to the main movies in the saga alongside a select number of other media, like the Aftermath trilogy by Chuck Wendig and The Clone Wars animated series.
The “Legends” part of the galaxy far, far away includes a lot of badass characters, including the likes of Darth Nihilus and Darth Revan. As such, Lucasfilm used this chance in the last movie of the Skywalker Saga to bring back some of these familiar characters and make them canon.

Disney’s The Mandalorian has already teased us with the return of Boba Fett, but is it actually likely to see the bounty hunter make an appearance in future episodes?
After seemingly succumbing to his death in Return of the Jedi, we didn’t see much of Boba Fett until the prequels depicted a teenage version of him. We also saw an adolescent Fett in the penultimate and final episode of The Clone Wars season 2, but other than that, if you’re a fan of the ruthless assassin, you can only hope to find him in the Expanded Universe, now called the non-canon “Legends.”
Boba Fett is one of the characters immortalized by the galaxy far, far away. In fact, fans have asked for years to see him return in any media, but that day has yet to come. Through Chuck Wendig’s canon Aftermath novels, though, the character Cobb...
