Slight but engaging animation
This animated short is told in one gradual withdrawal of the camera from a tight shot back to a much wider view of the property of the title. The narrative is a man in the house is looking for plane tickets, while he talks to his impatient wife on the phone. We learn of stolen money, of police involvement, and of stakes, and really this is all we need to know.
The scene nicely expands at the same rate as the camera pulls back so there is a pleasing connection between the visuals and the narrative. The scenario is simple and contained, even if that "containment" expands as I mention. The music is used to give it a semi-caper feel, which fits the events, and the animation is similarly stylish and with a dated but cool feel to it. In the end it is a very slight film, with a narrative with a nice conclusion, but it is fun and engaging in the way it delivers the scene with style, good awareness of what it is doing, and animation that effectively fits the manner and means of story-telling.
