An outside front aerial view of a Ford Crown Victoria cruiser is shown, presumably representing the car Jamie, Eddie and the reporter are in when they receive the shots fired call in the in-car shot. They arrive to the call in a newer model Chevy patrol car.
On the shots fired call, the journalist was able to open up the rear door on his own and get out. In police cruisers, the door has to be opened from the outside for the rear doors to prevent easy escape.
Even if a victim refuses to cooperate such as refusing to identify a suspect, the state can still prosecute a suspected offender based upon other evidence.
Frank surmises (and Danny and others buy into) the suspect thought they were shooting a police officer due to the raid jacket, however police officers do not sit in the back of patrol cars. Both used the term "cop killer" even though no one had been killed. Based upon the known evidence at the time, it should have been apparent the reporter was targeted since if the shooter had wanted to shoot the actual officers they could have done so while they were distracted by the reporter. Erin was the only one to properly assess the situation in that no one was killed and it was not a cop involved but a reporter.
On the shots fired call, Jamie kicks in the door to a specific apartment. Jenko says it was 315 Lefferts and the Northeast corner apartment on the third floor. The 9-1-1 call when played back did not specify an apartment or floor of the apartment building. The caller said they were st Northeast Lefferts and 17th and heard gunfire and did not specify an apartment.
