Funny, insightful movie

This semi-autobiographical movie set in San Francisco follows a woman whose clock is ticking and wants to get pregnant. Kara Herold, the film maker, does this with humor and insight. Beth Lisick is excellent in the lead role as Kara. This movie is well worth watching.

Hilarious, poignant and relatable

A powerful film by Kara Herold once again! This film explores Kara's desire in trying to juggle both her career as a filmmaker and to be a mother, a contradiction of life choices many women have to go through in the unforgiving patriarchal society. Using both live action and animation, 39 1/2 beautifully captures Kara's journey in an engaging and meaningful way.

This artful film is powerful, poignant, and hilarious. I only wish I could keep following the story line... I didn't want it to end. Bravo to a truly stunning work. I loved it. Laughed, cried, and opened me up.
