Though Louis C.K.'s transgressions were widely considered the worst kept secret in the comedy world, to some, it really was a secret.
Stephen Colbert welcomed Samantha Bee to the stage at Njpac in Newark, New Jersey, on Dec. 6, where she was the special guest on Sad! A Happy Evening with Stephen Colbert & Samantha Bee, a fundraiser for the Montclair Film Festival.
During their hour-and-a-half-long chat, the longtime friends talked everything from dealing with politics (specifically President Donald Trump's tumultuous first-year in office) during their late night monologues -- Colbert hosts The Late Show on CBS while Bee is the face of Full Frontal on TBS -- as well as the seismic shift in culture surrounding sexual harassment since the Harvey Weinstein allegations came to light.

Every November, two New York awards groups — Independent Feature Project’s Gotham Awards and scholastic cinephile association The National Board of Review — put the spotlight on some lucky winners, boosting their Oscar chances. The ones left off aren’t hurt, necessarily; it only means they need to nab more attention down the pike.

Alex Rodriguez may be a favorite among New York Yankee fans, but he apparently isn't a favorite for everyone.
In a new interview with The New York Times, Esther Wojcicki, the mother of the former Mlb pro's ex-girlfriend, Anne Wojcicki, slammed Rodriguez for lacking intellectual skills. A-Rod dated the entrepreneur for nearly a year and a half. The two split in late 2016, and he has since moved on with Jennifer Lopez.
"I liked A-Rod, he was a very nice man," Esther told the outlet. "He came from a Hispanic family. We liked them, they were very sweet. He seemed to be genuinely in love with Anne. But I right away figured out this was a mismatch."
"He had no academic background. We couldn’t have an intellectual conversation about anything," she continued. "His main interest in life was something that none of us had ever focused on, which was baseball. He could park himself...

The 1960s had Beatlemania, but the 1980s had the Freddy frenzy. In the decade when many teenagers wanted their MTV, the bladed boogeyman from Springwood slashed his way out of the big screen to bring his sinister sounds and killer style to the music scene, with a collection of his greatest hits coming back from the dead this week courtesy of Mondo and Strange Disc.
Initially released in 1987, Freddy's Greatest Hits features the voice of Robert Englund accompanied by the talented musicians known as The Elm Street Group. This Wednesday at 12:00pm Ct, Mondo will unleash a special striped vinyl variant of the nine-track collection from Strange Disc. Priced at $25 and limited to 400 copies, the special vinyl release is slated to ship out in January, giving horror fans something to listen to as they drift off to sleep in the post-holiday weeks...

Back in the early 1970s film school professors had limited resources. They lectured, assigned readings from a short list of authoritative film scholars and screened 16mm prints of renowned world classics. The only problem is that it was often difficult to correlate the classics described in the texts with the ragged film prints available.

Taylor Swift released her sixth studio album, Reputation, on Nov. 10. The adoring fans who preordered physical copies of the album were also treated to personal poetry from the singer, which included a heartfelt and revealing prologue to Reputation. In addition to covering our generation's social media habits and the downsides of life in the public eye, Taylor gives a missive about the public speculation that will naturally follow once people listen to Reputation: When this album comes out, gossip blogs will scour the lyrics for the men they can attribute to each song, as if the inspiration for music is as simple and basic as a paternity test. There will be slideshows of photos backing up each incorrect theory, because it's 2017 and if you didn't see a picture of it, it couldn't have happened right? Sigh. I'm going to stop you right there. I'm tired. We've been doing this for over a decade.

Icymi: Taylor Swift just released her new single, “Call It What You Want”– the latest love song off her new album, Reputation. If her telling lyrics are any indication, the song appears to detail the singer’s courtship with British actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn and also references her drama-filled 2015 and her conscious decision to go under the radar for most of 2016.
Swift’s latest song got us thinking about other mushy love songs and the lovebirds behind them. Here are some of those songs – the artists’ muses might just surprise you.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for “Outlander” Season 3 Episode 5, “Freedom & Whisky.”]
Unrequited Love
If the second episode of “Outlander’s” third season was a showcase for Jamie and the important things he’s been through during his separation from Claire, Sunday night’s fifth installment was all about bringing Claire back to the forefront of the conversation by all but ignoring Jamie until the hour’s closing moment. Following Frank’s death, it was hard to feel sympathy for Claire, so this episode also served as a form of redemption. We followed her work and home life following her visit to Scotland and saw what a bleak, Jamie-less future could potentially mean for her, but that outlook didn’t last long when Roger returned with some not-so-shocking news about one A. Malcolm, the Edinburgh printer who wrote of whisky and freedom.

But in an effort to live like Kim Kardashian, I swapped out everything — and I mean everything — in my regimen so I could mimic the Kkw Beauty mogul’s routine for a few weeks.
Who Tried It: Kaitlyn Frey, Style & Beauty Assistant and Kardashian superfan
Why We Tried It: I love the Kardashians, and I’m willing to try anything that makes me feel like like the 6th member of the KarJenner sister squad.

For many, the story of Fleetwood Mac begins with the 1974 arrival of Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, the talented yet combustible American duo who ignited an explosive string of hits that continue to define the band. But Mick Fleetwood wants to move past those rumors. Fans of the group’s pop jewels would hardly recognize their original incarnation as one of the most respected British blues bands of the ’60s. Now the founding drummer is telling the tale of those formative years in Love That Burns: A Chronicle of Fleetwood Mac, Volume One 1967–1974, a lavish new book by Genesis Publications due out Sept.

Drew Barrymore is preparing to shoot the second season of her Netflix zombie comedy, Santa Clarita Diet, and the actress is getting some emotional support from her little girl along the way.

Barrymore shared a sweet snapshot to Instagram showing her getting her hair dyed alongside her little girl. Olive clearly didn't want to miss out on the fun, so her mom noted that stylist Tracey Cunningham "puts conditioner in foils on her for solidarity."

With 240-360 calories per pint, it’s easy to see why. While it’s not identical to your typical, full-fat ice cream, Halo Top manages to satisfy that ice cream craving without any of the guilt. Intrigued? Read on for 5 fast fact on the treat.

In the age of branding and franchises, every existing story has added value. But not every film is fit for TV.
The challenge of adapting movies to a new medium is a tricky one with no clear-cut way to do it. Many new series credit “Fargo” as their benchmark, citing its tone and setting as inspiration for creating a new world around the best parts of what came before. That’s all well and good, but there are as many failed attempts to replicate Noah Hawley’s strategy as successes.
Similarly, some carbon copies — using the same characters and plot points as the preceding movie — are just as good, if not better than their cinematic predecessors. Because any way can work, many various attempts have been made. There’s no right way to do it, but there are a lot of wrong ways; as evidenced by the growing pile of canceled shows based on movies.

Yeah, you read that right. The Bat is finally ready to move on in his life and get married. Makes total sense right? No! Wrong!

Or whatever. If you want the details go read the comic, but I will say this for Wayne, he's got class. He proposed with a ring made from the diamond that Catwoman stole the first time Batman ever met her. Everyone else's marriage proposal suddenly looks like Shite.
Ok, look, I'm not against having Batman getting married. But you better make this stick. If you are gonna do this DC, don't dick us around. I mean technically he has only proposed. She hasn't even answered yet. It cliffhanged...

In-n-Out Burger may be a favorite among celebrities, but the rest of America has a new love affair.
According to the 2017 Harris Poll, which measures public opinion across various industries like food, travel, homeware and media, the country’s new favorite burger chain is Five Guys—ousting the California-based eatery into second place after two years on top.
Both restaurants are notable for their rather simplistic offering compared to other fast food chains that increasingly rely on outrageous new menu items. At In-n-Out, you can get burgers, shakes, fries and grilled cheeses while Five Guys also tacks on hot dogs and BLTs.
