"I Kissed a Girl" is a Katy Perry song from 2008 and it was actually her big breakthrough. Nobody knew her before this one, everybody knew her afterward and many many more hit songs followed. I must say that this one here is not among my very biggest favorites from the artist, but it was still a good listen. And it was at least as much of a good watch. I am generally more into brunettes and Katy in her mid-20s looked as stunning as she still looks today. Sadly, other than her looks, the video has little to offer from the visual side. But its success still made it a defining component of the 2000s in terms of pop culture and I am really glad it made Perry the star she is today. I recommend "I Kissed a Girl".

I guess when coming into the music industry you should just hard hit with a controversial bop. A bit embarrassed to learn 13 years later that the lyrics are "got so brave drink in hand" rather than "got so brave drinking ale"... oops.

"I kissed a girl, and I liked it, the taste of her cherry chap-stick..." The song that launched Katy Perry's career. Superfine, super-sexy, I remember that this video was a favorite of Playboy magazine at the time. I wanted it without having seen it, on DVD, and fortunately one of those South African Now compilations included it, and I've played it several times. Very leggy (love the high heels, the peep-toe close-up) with Katy dancing about with her many girlfriends all around her. A smorgasbord of delectable flesh. Katy's eyes are the big stars though. I have to confess though that I do not recognize Kesha in the video, I only saw here that she's listed as a cast member.
