In 2014 David & Maralyn Reynolds were invited to Lynmouth to the Premiere of the documentary: "The Journey of the Louisa" which had been Produced by Russell Meyers. Talks started immediately with Russell to work with Great British Entertainment & screenwriter Adrian Tyson to Produce the feature animation Louisa: An Amazing Adventure.
Producer David Reynolds came across the Louisa lifeboat rescue story in 2007 at a Porlock Literary Festival when he was given a copy of the C. Walter - Hodges novel: The Overland Launch (1969). He immediately thought it would make a great movie and so began many years of research across Exmoor's coastal area between Lynmouth & Porlock to find out what really happened back in 1899. So Louisa: An Amazing Adventure animation movie idea was created.

As Lynmouth was severely flooded in August 1952, many of the existing village buildings were destroyed. Fortunately. the Producers obtained drawings of how the town looked like in 1899. Lynmouth looks stunning in the movie.
As the characters were being developed for Louisa, the production team met a pub dog called Rollo at The Village Inn. It was thought that he could befriend the film's main character "May Crocombe" as she walked around Lynmouth. He's now a Super-Dog-Star.
