Bad, just bad!
ragebird197 August 2017
I'm going to assume everyone who had a hand with this piece of junk are the people that 5 stared this absolute rubbish! Oh my, where to begin! As a person who has a collection of 3,200 horror movies i watch quite a few horror flicks but rarely write reviews myself. But in spite of watching one of the worst movies i've probably seen in the last ten years i had to save a few poor saps from spending money on this absolute piece of crap. Basically we have a 63 minute movie involving a security guard guarding an empty house for the night. From running back and forth through the house to answer a ringing phone at times and hiding in the closet from a supposed unarmed woman and a man in a mask even though the security guard is armed with a loaded gun. I managed to dose off 3 different times during my watch with this movie, finally just to fast forward through the last ten minutes and to toss this movie in the trash can. Couldn't even get myself to add this to my ongoing collection, not even worth it. I'm pretty sure someone and their friends literally made this movie overnight in 8 hours in the comfort of their own home. Oh, and to mention the "supposed" soundtrack, which i caught one song at the beginning of the movie.... and then.... where was the rest? Honestly who cares though, this movie was GARBAGE! All you horror movie fans, you've been warned!

One of the worst... ever.
cmello-1617214 July 2017
Extremely low quality - with no evidence of a budget to speak of. You could probably watch this entire film on fast-forward and not miss anything. That's because there's not much going on here. Action is almost ZERO, and the dialog is VERY unsophisticated and child-like; especially when the main character talks to himself, as if the moviegoer is a child watching a program like Blues Clues.

To be perfectly honest, watching this movie is like watching porn actors trying to create meaningful dialog. soooo slooooowwww. Hokie as if it were created by 14- year-olds with a camera. No meaningful cinematography, horrible lighting ... just ugh... The fake "evil" laughing... I simply cannot relate to what's considered entertainment these days. So as to not violate the "terms" of this website (which is almost impossible while trying to be honest about this film), I will only say that, with respect to those involved, I'm pretty sure this film won't make anyone's career go in the right direction. I tried so hard to be "nice", but there is simply nothing positive about this "creation"... unless you like soft porn; you get treated to a couple of minutes of that... but you could watch plenty of other good movies to actually enjoy better sex scenes and dialog/action/horror as well. There is no clever twist, and nothing to really "spoil" here; this piece of... "art" does just fine on its own with spoiling your night. The real "horror" here is that this film was actually produced and furnished to the public. Viewer beware!

Amateur night
harvest72016 March 2020
I saw this movie for free (on a Roku channel). Description made it sound like it might be good. Nope. Very boring. Nothing really happens in this film. Seems like it probably started out as a 5-minute short film project. Should've stayed that way. Acting, cinematography, etc. strictly amateur. Not worth watching.

Not the best.
berg-7453223 October 2019
I think it's better than a lot of reviewers have scored it but I don't have a problem with people sayin it sucked. I didn't read other reviews just the scores. The huge problem with this is every line uttered every movement every emotion of the lead is obvious that he's trying really hard to act nothing he does is natural. You almost see the thought bubbles " now I get mad " " now I'm scared" but the dream part is the worst he loudly says I'm going insane and it is incredibly forced. Every problem with this movie begins and ends with the lead. It takes talent to do nearly every scene and this man was not up for the task. Part of this could be that much of the dialogue when he's alone seems to be improvised. With that his weak acting is made even more obvious. Maybe if he's acting in a group his lack of talent is less obvious.

So...
tmccull5220 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Our hero, an armed security guard, who "has a loaded gun and knows how to use it", is left-handed, but carries his gun on his right hip, in a holster for a right-handed person. So, he knows how to USE a gun, he just doesn't know how to CARRY a gun. That's some crack, Special Forces type skill there. Yep. Fer share.

The premise is that this security guard, Frank Castillo, is assigned to guard and patrol an empty mansion for one night. He has two explicit instructions: 1.) do not fall asleep, and; 2.) do not go into the maid's quarters. Frank spends the first 15 minutes of the movie running around the mansion, repeatedly holstering and unholstering the "loaded gun that he knows how to use" but doesn't know how to effectively carry. He runs to answer the mansion's sole phone, a landline, several times between bouts of holstering and unholstering his sidearm. Eventually, despite the explicit instruction not to fall asleep, Frank does off several times, and he starts to have brief nightmares.

To calm his frazzled nerves, Frank calls his boss seeking reassurance, and in response, his boss belittles and castigates Frank for calling. He tells Frank to just do his job, and that he'd damned well better not call him again. Frank sheepishly apologizes and hangs up.

Frank then calls his girlfriend and leaves a message, saying the he needs to talk to her, but that she doesn't have to listen to his message, but if she does listen to his message, would she please call him. Frank then begins to hear guttural, spectral whispers about how there "will be life and death" and that "there is no salvation but through the master". Frank then begins to curse and shout at the house that he's not afraid, and that "this s**t is getting weak!".

Shortly after this, a woman knocks at the door, asking to be let in because "it's not safe out". Frank waffles about letting her in, as he isn't supposed to allow anyone into the house, but he eventually relents and allows her to come in.

Frank and the mystery woman hit it off, even after she rather cryptically asks him repeatedly if he trusts her. They make small talk and drink wine, and the woman gives Frank a story about having escaped from somewhere, and that he car broke down. That's how she ended up knocking at the door.

The mystery woman seduces Frank, and they have sex in the master bedroom. During vigorous sex, she slaps him across the face several times, which Frank endures without adverse reaction. They start to fool around again, and the woman tells Frank that she's figured out a way to prove to him who she is. We learn that her name is Carrie, and she darts out of the bedroom.

The phone rings, and it's the owner of the mansion, Bill. Frank tells Bill that Carrie is there; Carrie is supposedly Bill's daughter. Bill castigates and insults Frank, and tells him that thw woman can't be his daughter Carrie, as she died six years ago. Bill then calls Frank an irresponsible prick, and tells Frank that he's going to call Frank's boss.

Frank puts his uniform back on and starts searching the mansion for Carrie. He calls out to Carrie numerous times as he searches for her, but she doesn't respond. The movie then cuts to some spectral, evil figure, who says, "It's time, my followers; time to feed on this one's (Frank's) fears. After this, Frank begins to hear a female voice cackling, and he frets about calling his boss and asking for help. He was told by his boss not to call him again, and Frank is afraid that he'll be fired if he does.

Frank decides to call, but finds that the phone is dead. Frank prays to God to make the phone work so that he can call his boss, and the phone suddenly works. Frank calls his boss, and his boss denigrates and cusses him out for calling. Frank decides to flee, but hears the ghostly voice calling his name. He runs and hides in a closet, and Carrie shows up and begins to tease and torment him from outside of the closet. The "Master" shows up behind Carrie, and she begins cackling and screaming his name. Apparently, Frank has forgotten that he "has a loaded gun and knows how to use it".

Carrie asks Frank if he'd like to see her real face, and she presents him with a deformed, demonic countenance. The "Master" shows up and approaches Frank, with Carrie crawling next to him tethered by a dog leash and collar. The "Master" begins blathering on nonsensically about Frank now belonging to him. The "Master" tells Frank to "find peace in Hell", and to "burn in the fires of his God". The screen fades to black, and we hear Frank begin to scream. The End.

There is a brief blooper reel at the end of the movie, during the credits. This is not the stupidest horror movie that I've ever seen, but it is very, very close to it. It's short, only 65 minutes long, but that's about 64 minutes too long.

Slow-burning indie horror
Leofwine_draca5 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Another day, another indie horror film. This one's set in an empty mansion at night and follows a security guard as he wanders the building, checking on the security. The whole thing is shot with a blue filter which gives it quite an interesting look, but the lack of incident really hurts it and leads me to believe that it would have worked better as a short film. Towards the end there's an explicit sex scene and a twist ending which is suitably horrific, but despite some suspense and atmosphere it's just too slow to be a successful movie.
