Nice idea, but rather weak execution Warning: Spoilers
"The Warriors: Last Subway Ride Home" is the title of an American 2-minute short film initiated by the Rolling Stone I believe and this one reunites the actors from the movie The Warrios from 1979 over 35 years later. We see them with each other in character, well outfit-wise at least, and this may be a nice little watch for everybody who likes the movie this refers to. I have not seen saido movie and I must say this short film here did not really get me curious either. The director is Patrick Nicholas Smith and he has as little connection as myself apparently with the original movie (I wasn't even born back then). His involvement here seems to be rather explained by the fact that he worked on other films on films as well. So as you see I am kinda struggling with coming up with anything else about this film. I liked the shots in which they showed the actors/characters back then and immediately afterwards today, or maybe the other way around this was a nice idea. The narrator was a bit annoying to me. Honestly, I think this could have been a nice little feature at a running time of around 20 minutes or so, maybe even an hour, but the way they did it here it really felt rushed and way too fast to create and interest whatsoever sadly. I know there's more footage from this meeting including interviews, but yeah, the film itself are only these two minutes we got here. Overall, not in failure territory, but to me not good enough for a positive recommendation. The problem is not the people or the project itself, but really the concept and concrete execution. Shame, this was certainly a bit of a missed opportunity.
