I didn't watch 'Redwater' when it was originally shown on TV, preferring instead to rent the DVD, but I was fully aware of the quite damming critical reviews it gained, as well as low ratings.
I'm surprised then to learn that actually this show is quite good. It's trying too hard to be 'Broadchurch' and it's slightly overdoing the 'we're Irish' angle, but all involved are giving good performances, and Shane Richie/Jessie Wallace look revitalised away from the trappings of Albert Square.
I'm enjoying it. Perhaps I'm the only one.
