Omg. Another conspiracy movie

Nonsense but fun nonsense.

I like movies like this or should I say I liked movies like this that was until people started to think a movie just like this was real. Capricorn 1 or one I'm not sure witch was the film that made the fake moon landing explode. Sure some people immediately after they noticed things that have absolutely been explained were always around but that movie is supposed to be someone within NASA way of exposing the conspiracy but it's as much fiction as Stones piece of garbage JFK. If you like alternate history books or movies you will like this. I do have a huge problem with one thing and its my only complaint. You need to hold onto your remote because nearly every time they show stills of the moon the or the astronauts and music plays it is very loud but the loudest is around the 8:30 minute mark when you reach that point you will have to turn you way down or you will wake the dead then when the music is over at about 9:30 you need to turn it up some but when you see a slide that says "the Return of Apollo18 it's almost silent so if you don't want to rewind turn it up but then keep that remote in your hand because the horrible sound mixing continues through out. I realize this sounds odd but you will thank when it happens. That it's entertaining but horrible horrible sound mixing
"The Landing" Navigates to an Unsatisfying Conclusion

The faux documentary "The Landing" does a pretty credible job of presenting a fictitious fable of conspiracy and tragedy haunting an Apollo 18 manned mission to the Moon that never was.
The overall quality of the production along with the acting are uniformly quite good here. But when the denouement lands us where it certainly seems to as an audience, I have a hunch you'll be joining me in a scoffing chorus of, "Come ON, maaan."
And they say women don't have The Power.

Conspiracy. Documentary. Fiction.

Interesting. I like the documentary aspect as it was handled very well by the director and the actors. When you are fully aware it's fiction but the film still holds your interest, that's good movie making.
I was burnt about 15 minutes before the ending and wouldn't watch it again but it was worth the watch
No humor, no action, not interesting and it's fake history

I love sci fi in general, but not this tripe.
I knew there was no Apollo 18 mission so I was curious what they were doing with this movie. It seemed to be mostly a series of boring interviews of unattractive people telling stories written by third rate hack writers which were not funny, not interesting and not even factual.
A documentary about a REAL Apollo mission with interviews of ordinary people who knew real historical details would have been a lot better.
Or an exciting movie like the fictional "Apollo 18" movie with the rock monsters.
This movie appears to have been very low budget.
It's worse than a waste of time. You might absorb a fake story about a real astronaut that some no-talent hack writer made up.
Don't waste your time or risk polluting your memory with this garbage.

Too realistic

I have a big problem with this faux documentary. People younger than 60 don't know Apollo ended in 1972 with Apollo 17 so this would be believable to them. It also furthers conspiracy theories about the Apollo manned missions being faked; that no one ever landed on the moon. It was all done on a soundstage in an abandoned plane hanger. There is no disclaimer or other indication it's fake.
Excellent Indie Movie

Warning: Spoilers
Generally, I'm not a big fan of indie movies -- they are very hit or miss. This one is definitely a hit. It's mislabeled as a documentary when it's a documentary-style work of fiction. But -- it's a brilliant work of fiction.
It's presented in such a way that when you leave, you want to look up what happened to the Apollo 18 mission and how could a scandal like this have been swept under the rug. Even knowing that it was fiction, it was easy to suspend disbelief and just go with it.
This movie tells the story of why 2 (of 3) astronauts died after returning from a trip to the moon after their pod crashed in a desert, rather than in the Pacific. There were conflicting theories on what happened, and both sides are presented in this movie, allowing the viewer to decide which they believe.
I really hope that The Landing becomes available on a streaming service or on DVD. It would be a great shame to have a quality movie like this be relegated to a few festivals and then obscurity.

Complete waste of time.

this movie was shockingly good. Don Hannah as the main lead was throughly convincing as his character which only lead the movie to greater punchlines by the end. I was genuinely impressed with the filming and editing. This is a damn near perfect movie for the genre it plays in. cudos to you all
Fake documentary that serves as a stunt-not entertainment.

This would be eligible for consideration IF Apollo 18 was a real mission!
Because this whole movie is FICTION, it serves only to confuse those interested in the Apollo program. People don't often do their own research, and those that don't could believe this story.
It only serves as a stunt to fool a viewer who either lacks the existing knowledge or the curiosity and intellectual fortitude to research. In both cases, it ceases to be entertaining.
It IS well-acted and is executed in a very convincing manner-making it all-the-more dangerous a weapon of misinformation in an age where it rampant.

My review is the key to enjoying this very well done show!

Imagine an amazing apple pie sitting on the dinner table. If someone described all the artificial ingredients, the food coloring, and the calories it contains, you're not likely enjoy it as much as if you just dove in imagining the main ingredient is "Grandma's love".
If you're lucky enough to not have seen any spoilers about this film, if you know nothing about Apollo 18, you enjoy documentaries, and you think this is just another NASA or Apollo documentary, I highly recommend that you STOP READING REVIEWS and watch it! This film was meant to be one of those that you walk into without expectations and completely unspoiled.
If the story is already spoiled for you, I'm sad for you. You'll probably only enjoy this 0-50% as much as it was intended. Those who rate it low are likely in the group that already had the main story spoiled for them. They're part of the population for whom this is NOT intended.
