Repeated on BBC4 as part of their Centenary celebrations. I probably watched this when it was originally broadcast.
It was a good episode to repeat as it marked the ending of an era. These were the last set of shows featuring presenter Ed 'Stewpot' Stewart and Peter Glaze.
They would be leaving along with Bernie Clifton by the end of the year. To be replaced by Stu 'I could crush a grape' Francis and The Krankies. Basically a decline in quality.
Here it is a mixture of sketches, quiz, couple of bands, in this case a choir. A silent film featuring Glaze and Clifton, inspired by Laurel and Hardy.
During the sketch they sing Dr Hook's When You're In Love With a Beautiful Woman. They sort of murdered it.
One of the music band was Sparks, the keyboard player was doing an Adolf Hitler impression. That scared the kids!
To me Crackerjack was never the same when Stewpot left.
