In spite of almost two decades having passed since the release of the first episode, The Office’s legacy still lives on in the hearts of its fans. One of their most favorite onscreen employees, the charming receptionist Pam Beesly steals the whole romantic line of the sitcom. However, the Pam actress, Jenna Fischer, seems to stay out of the spotlight now.
It may come as a surprise, but over the course of 11 years that have passed since The Office’s conclusion, Fischer has made a number of far cries from the role which made her a star, with some of the projects with our favorite Pam actress being enlisted below.
Her first post-Office role was the one in Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis’ dramedy titled Are You Here (2013). This movie was received quite poorly, and the critics were sure it was a shameful waste of the actors’ talents, including Fischer’s comedy potential.

In the sixth episode of Greg Garcia’s new Freevee comedy Sprung, two characters, while seemingly stealing a truck of valuable art, have a conversation about the Jimmy Buffett musical Escape to Margaritaville. The episode ends with the playing of a full song from said musical; it’s the sort of creative choice that would seem utterly random if you didn’t know that Garcia co-wrote Escape to Margaritaville.
Garcia wrote and directed every episode of Sprung and Garcia is the Rosetta Stone through which almost every second of Sprung can be understood or interpreted. Trying to figure out where you recognize a random supporting actor from? Chances are good that you remember them from a Garcia show. Scratching your head about why a comic cadence, pop-culture reference or piece of kitschy production design feels familiar? Odds are that it’s similar to something from a Garcia show.

In Season 3 of “Community,” the study group takes a class from biology professor Dr. Marshall Kane, played by Michael K. Williams. Prof. Kane is an ex-con who earned his degree while in prison.
In other words, Kane has seen some things. But nothing prepared him for the baffling changes in the world when he got out. Specifically, “as someone who just spent the majority of his life in prison, what happened with Legos? They used to be simple. Something happened out here while I was inside. Harry Potter Legos, Star Wars Legos. Complicated kits, tiny little blocks. I’m not saying it’s bad, I just wanted to know what happened.”
Prof. Kane is honestly baffled and looking for an answer. And Williams plays this scene with complete sincerity — which is where the hilarity lies. Because the idea is absurd, but he’s absolutely right. Legos have changed.

Charlie Robinson, a prolific actor who played the clerk on Night Court for most of the NBC sitcom’s run and before that was a regular on its lauded series Buffalo Bill, died Sunday of cancer complications at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was 75.

Judd Apatow knows talent when he sees it. For years, he has made a career out of giving cinematic showcases to comedians. Whether it was Steve Carell in The 40 Year Old Virgin, Seth Rogen in Knocked Up, or Amy Schumer in Trainwreck, he’s shined the spotlight on them, launching the talented actors and actresses to A-list careers. He’s done it as a director, as well as a producer, making his stable of talent truly enviable. Now, he returns to directing with another effort that does just that. The King of Staten Island, like Trainwreck with Schumer, has a script written by its star (co-written here), based on real life. Here, it’s Pete Davidson, and his tragic childhood loss is the basis for a stunningly terrific work. Carly Jibson may've been a Broadway baby, but she's got her work cut out for her on The Funny Dance Show. In this clip from Wednesday's all-new episode, The Guest Book actress tackles Right Said Fred's feel good song, "I'm Too Sexy." Jibson kicks off her solo routine draped in a black cape, where high heel-clad back-up dancers emerge from. While Jibson really brings out her A-game for her time in the spotlight, she also incorporates some unexpected humor. But, of course, that's what The Funny Dance Show is all about. Despite nailing certain aspects of her routine, Jibson purposefully messes up at other moments. Slapstick humor at its best, right? However, we did not...

Fans of “Search Party” will soon be searching for the show on HBO Max.
In another example of a series being shuttled off a linear cable channel, the TBS comedy series is moving over to WarnerMedia’s nascent streaming service for its upcoming third season. In addition, the show has been renewed for a fourth season with the move. Season 3 is slated to air in spring 2020 and the first two seasons of the show will also be available to stream.
“With HBO Max we have the unique opportunity to continue this brilliant, acclaimed series and connect with even more of the younger, digital natives who have worshipped it the most,” said Kevin Reilly, chief content officer for HBO Max and president of TNT, TBS and truTV.
“Search Party” was originally renewed for its third season last year. The series stars Alia Shawkat, Meredith Hagner, Brandon Micheal Hall, John Early and John Reynolds.

Exclusive: Brett Weitz continues to expand his turf at WarnerMedia. Eight months after he was promoted from Evp Programming for TBS to General Manager of TNT and TBS, Weitz is also taking on oversight of truTV. With the new title of General Manager of TNT, TBS & TruTV, he will now manage all three networks and oversee their creative executive teams and development in New York and Los Angeles. It’s official: There will not be a fifth season for Angie Tribeca, TBS’ cop spoof comedy series created by Nancy and Steve Carell and starring Rashida Jones.
There had been persistent chatter that Angie Tribeca was done after it wrapped its fourth (and now final) season in December. A number of cast members already have moved on, getting other gigs.
