Leo "Bud" Welch sadly died on December 19, 2017.
The rather abrupt ending of the film was inspired by the final scene of The Sopranos.
Leo "Bud" Welch's triple threat finger-strummed, single note riff-based, thumbed-bass/claw-chorded electric country blues is all his own. Welch is playing his pink sparkle Daisy Rock Guitar's Debutante Rock Candy special with the letters of his name on it is classic. He also plays a sweet black telecaster with a white pick guard and uses a Fender Deluxe amp.
Leo "Bud" Welch's voice is raspy at times but when he's on his game he can sing like a bird and is like no one else except maybe a J.B. Lenoir or a John Mayall.
By 1947 at age 15, Leo "Bud" Welch could play guitar and sing well enough to perform in front of an audience. He received praise and blessings of many elder guitar players. And he was offered an audition by BB King - but could not afford the trip to Memphis.
