- In the second show of a two-part special, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May continue in their epic trip across Namibia as they attempt to prove that beach buggies are brilliant. Having escaped the challenging desert at last, the trio must now face the rough roads of the Namibian bush and the constant malfunction of Clarkson's V8-powered buggy. As their arduous journey nears its conclusion, the hosts camp out in style and embark on their own version of rhino conservation before coming up with an unusual and potentially perilous way to reach their finish point.
- The trio continue their journey in their modified buggies, finding themselves heading for the Namibia-Angola border. At the start Clarkson makes the trio go shopping so they can survive in the nature. Clarkson and May team up to buy the most non-sensible and expensive items, while Hammond buys the practical and economical items They also use the day to modify their cars. Clarkson installs a spoiler at the front with an air scoop to keep his V8 cool. Hammond reduces the weight of his buggy by removing seats etc. Clarkson challenges Hammond to a race, but his buggy can't even start the race, let alone finish. May's buggy has very bad shock absorbers and as the roads get bad, the ride becomes more and more unbearable
At night Clarkson and May set up their luxurious, extravagant tent, while Hammond lives in true camping style. Clarkson and May have a butler named Giovanni. Clarkson tells May that in Africa they de-horn rhinos to save them from poachers. A horn goes for $ 320,000. But poachers kill the de-horned ones as well, as it saves them the trouble of tracking them again later. Clarkson wants to do something about Rhino preservation. They decide to take a day to look for poachers and even send Giovanni up in a parachute to look for them. They then decide to look for poachers at night, but then Clarkson hits Hammond with a tranquilizer, thinking he is a poacher. The next morning, when Hammond won't wake up, they put him into his buggy and get it airlifted by a chopper to the next rendezvous point. Hammond is furious at being treated like that.
As the road becomes rougher, Clarkson's car keeps falling apart every few miles. So, to reduce the shocks to his car, he drove at 2800 rpm, which emptied his tank every 31 miles. And they forgot to buy a funnel at the camping shop, so it was difficult to refuel the buggy. As the road gets worse, May decides to take the trio through an off-road path. As such they land into something called Fesh Fesh, which is sand, as fine as talcum powder. After the cars get clogged, the trio abandon May's plan and get back on the road. Only, now Clarkson is driving a V7. May's petrol tank has cracked. and to take revenge, Hammond and Clarkson replace May's gear shift with a rubber penis.
By night they had made good progress and were only 100 miles from their destination. At night they had an argument about who made the best beach buggy. May is angry with the rubber penis, so he takes revenge by raising the height of Clarkson's spoiler, which makes it unusable. But May ends up burning the front of his own buggy in the process. By the night, the cars are rattling so badly that the light won't face front and keep changing directions. The going becomes very dangerous, so they stop till the morning. In daylight, they see that the end point is past 100's of waterfalls, that make part of a river system. With no other way to pass it, Clarkson build a rope-way system to transport the buggies past the waterfalls to the end point.
May goes first as his buggy is the lightest. Clarkson follows, but his is 200 kgs heavier and scraps the river surface (infested with crocodiles) before making it through. Hammond's buggy is the heaviest and Clarkson has put an iron anchor inside it, to make it even heavier. His buggy gets stuck 200 meter away from the finish line, as the generator driving the rope-way stalls. Clarkson concludes that beach buggies are no good.
