"Dragons" is an animated short film from 2016 that takes place in the Overwatch universe and let me say that I am not familiar with this popular video game at all, so my review only refers to these slightly under 8 minutes we got here. Dai's and Robinson's work can certainly be called a success if you take a look at the millions and millions of people who watched it in not even the last two years. And I can see why as the animation is really really impressive here. Sadly the plot and the characters and their actions and relationship are not exactly on par, but it's not bad either. Tolerable I'd say may be the best adjective to describe this 2-man show here. Comedy is non-existent as this is a film that takes itself very seriously and I would say it feels good and authentic enough to do so. Like I said, maybe you need to be a fan of the game to really be a fan of the film here, one of quite a few Overwatch short films released in recent years and perhaps the most known. Oh yeah even with the voice cast being mostly Japanese, it is an American English-language film. I recommend it to animation (short) film lovers and for Overwatch fans, it probably is close to a must-see. Thumbs up.
