Last year I helped fund a Kickstarter for a documentary called A Shot in the Dark that follows a blind wrestler who tries to win a state title.
Last night my kids and I had an opportunity to screen the movie at a small film festival in Providence, and I have to say it was an amazing story. We got to meet and talk with the wrestler Anthony Ferraro, his coach, the director - something my kids will not soon forget.
Although this is a documentary, it flows like a movie and even my 11 and 10 year old sons were glued to their seats. I thought the director did an amazing job of telling Anthony Ferraro's story, and I think he told it in a way that captures feelings from all sides - the wrestler, his coaches, and his family.
They are still working on distribution for this movie, but if you ever have the opportunity to see it, I highly recommend checking it out.
