Rebound (1955)
** 1/2 (out of 4)
Dr. Allen delivers the bad news to Bob that he is blind and that he will sadly never be able to see again. After falling into a depression of thinking he'll never be able to do anything, Bob is visited by a Kansas business that specializes in helping the blind and soon they teach him what he can do without his eyes.
Herk Harvey directed this education short, which was actually pretty good. There's certainly nothing ground-breaking on display here but I thought the performances were good and Harvey's direction also kept the 23-minute running time moving smoothly and the film never felt too long or got boring. Obviously the main point of this was to show people that there was a way for their blind relatives to live a somewhat normal life and I thought for the most part it was entertaining.
