The character of Lucio Questi played by Ottaviano Dell'Acqua is loosely based on the character Lucio Questi from the novel "The Art of Death" written by Philip Brocklehurst (under his pen name P.M. Thomas). Director Alex Wesley loved the book and the character so much that he wanted to include him somewhere in this film.
The original plot for Demon Mind (2017) when it was originally called "Blood Vengeance" was reworked by Alex Wesley and became Mutilator from the Grave (2015).
The original script for Demon Mind (2017) back when the project was titled "Blood Vengeance" was completely different. The story involved a man - played by Alex Wesley - whose girlfriend is killed by a gang of degenerates. Desperate to avenge his girlfriend's murder, he contacts a witch who transforms him into a blood thirsty demon to exact his vengeance on the gang who wronged him. A few scenes for "Blood Vengeance" were filmed and are used in Demon Mind (2017), these scenes are when Alex Wesley is chasing one of his victims in an old building with a machete, and another scene where a thief is attempting to rob a house only to get what's coming to him.
The title was changed to Demon Mind (2017) as a nod to Demon Wind (1990) a favorite film of both Alex Wesley and Philip Brocklehurst.
