Wait, this is a modern movie?
Sleepin_Dragon6 November 2018
How is it possible to make a movie in 2018, that feels like it's a straight for TV afternoon pot boiler. The story is decent, but the production values are calamitous, it feels so cheap and low cost. The acting is decent, but it's too polished, too glitzy, the women are all smart, with immaculate hair, the men are all handsome and groomed. It has such an artificial feel. The scenes of the killer taunting the Police are embarrassing, the cheap mask, dodgy voice....

This instantly takes me back to a video store in 1997, I've bought a huge bag of Starburst, and this little gem sits unloved on the 2.99 reduced videos stand.

It's a pot boiler to watch if you're bored, just don't expect anything rewarding. 4/10

Music or Dialogue
ismailnuri14 June 2020
Another case of unnecessary rumbling "background music" drowning out the dialogue. Doesn't anyone who makes these things ever watch the finished product? Thank god for subtitles and rewind. Without them, I would never be able to understand the plot.

The high school kids want their movie back
pink_floydilia5 November 2019
Watching portions of this felt like I was reading a drugstore paperback published in the 90s. It felt odd, jarring, weirdly flat and a lot like one of those midweek movies you see when you're sick at home and have nothing better to watch! Strange. That's all I can say.

Background noise is overwhelming
teresamlittleton9 November 2020
I couldn't hear what people were saying because much of the time the voices sounded muffled or overwhelmed with background noise.

In Search of Incognito, the "Charm Killer"
lavatch13 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"Their Killer Affair" (a.k.a., "Deadly Exposé") features an interesting lead character in Detective Maxine "Max" Payton, who is described early in the film as "the pig-faced chess king" perhaps because she knows how to skillfully maneuver the pieces on a chessboard.

Working in homicide, Max is on the trail of a serial killer who leaves charms on the deceased victims. One is an image of swirling circles. Another is a pre-Celtic spiral. Yet another is related to the Hindu "perfect" sound of "ohm." Max is currently living with Simon Jacobson, the former star lacrosse player in college. Simon is Max's "rebound" relationship after her failed marriage to the cheater Ryan Curio.

After Ryan becomes one of the serial killer's victims, it becomes clear that the killer is close to Max. He has cleverly targeted men and women associated with betrayal of the their spouses, finding the victims on Adeline Lilly's website of unfaithful partners.

While there were some interesting character interactions, those close to Max were all unsavory people. Max's bestie Jen has been hitting on her live-in boyfriend Simon. Jen and her unfaithful husband Greg, who is ironically a hot-shot divorce attorney, get into a fist fight in her dress shop. Even Curtis, Max's partner on the police force, seems oily.

The major weakness of the film was in the unraveling of the narrative to expose the Charm Killer. The plot seemed strained when all of the major candidates just happen to show up simultaneously at a trailer park. Even the motivation of the killer in targeting people close to Max seemed underdeveloped. Why the killer was so obsessed with Max was a conundrum never fully explained in this deadly exposé.

Inconsistent killer
MsIris30 January 2021
The eyes behind the mask were clearly blue at the beginning, and I would've sworn it was the ex-husband. Then when that theory bit the dust, the eyes behind the mask changed. I found that very obvious. Also, the overall acting wasn't very believable. I've seen far better LT movies. Sad, too, because it could have had good potential.

Not bad!
Chartreuse117 June 2020
This is a whodunit Lifetime movie with a detective (Melissa Archer) in the starring role out to solve a bunch of serial killer murders. She begins to discover some patterns to all of them and has herself and us wondering who the culprit is. Would have given this more stars except that it speeds up too much at the end. All in all, not a bad thriller but wouldn't recommend it, either

Hideous background music/sounds are the most obnoxious I've ever heard
lindstrom-5037428 June 2022
I logged on with only one goal: to warn people of the horrible, way too loud background sounds and what do you know, 2 people had already written about it. I've seen hundreds of movies in my lifetime and this is the most annoying sounding movie I've ever seen. I had to turn it up so loud to hear the dialogue and then the background sounds were ridiculously loud. There was also way too much of it. I think the finished movie must have seemed monotonous to the director so he asked the music/sound people to "punch it up". WAY TOO MUCH background sound. I could barely watch it but I wanted to know who the killer was.

Rogue Detective Breaking The Law
pogirlshines2 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
**SPOILERS** The acting was decent. I gave this a 4 because it was interesting & exciting but most of my "excitement" was really just anger at all the mistakes the lead character kept making. The fact that even after the FBI took over the case, she was going rogue all over the place possibly causing more people to be murdered. If she had turned over the evidence she had on her phone or even reported it to her precinct & the feds as the law requires, they would have had more info on their end to possible solve these crimes much earlier. In real life someone like this would be fired or prosecuted for that behavior, unless they had connections & it was a cover up. She withheld evidence numerous times. She thought it was a good idea to bring someone her live in boyfriend hated, because she was coming on to him, to live in the same house with them, lmao. Does a boyfriend that loyal even exist?

They also never showed her having any real suspicion towards said live in boyfriend when he came up with injuries 2x during which attacks had occurred. Obviously most victims fight back & will harm the attacker during any struggle.

I guessed correctly who the killer really was by all the questions he was asking her about the case when he was at her home.

The ending was insane for the point that the guilty party was shot once by "someone," who is NEVER revealed, right before he was about to shoot her so she was able to pick up the rifle he dropped and finish him off. I thought they would have shown her partner had followed her after being wounded and made the hit, but they didn't. I don't know if this was just bad editing but it kind of ruined the movie for me. **SPOILERS** **Having legit technical advisors leads to the credibility of any film.

Your usual LMN movie with a violent and confusing ending
davetruman-6624612 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's your standard LMN movie about a serial killer who taunts a female detective with the usual suspicious characters and a couple of weird suspects to keep you guessing but the ending was not your typical one, where the two main characters tussle over a gun or knife and that's it. Here in the last three minutes, 4 people are shot with a shotgun including the psycho killer with his own shotgun. What gets me is as you are watching the ending Max is about to be blown away by the killer but some how the killer is shot mysteriously and Max picks up the shotgun and kills him.

Terrible sound
ejohnson-202833 February 2023
The acting wasn't too bad, if you actually hear what they were saying that might have helped.

I'm not sure who is supposed to watch and listen to the final cut but they must have fallen asleep. The background obnoxious music is so loud and overwhelming that half the time you can't hear a word the actors are saying. And at times the voices are echoing.

I had to actually use closed captioning to know what was going on.

Some of the dialogue seemed too rehearsed and mechanical.

Typical police Captain who yells too much, complicated relationships, ok storyline but again, the entire movie is overpowered by the bad sound mix and is not enjoyable because you need closed captioning to know what's being said.

The actors get into scuffles without even messing up their hair. A little too made up.
