While Forbes noted in May 2017 that a sequel would never happen due of the underwhelming performance of the film in most markets, Later that same month, it was reported that the sequels could still be made thanks to record breaking merchandise sales, But in 2018 Hasbro Brands purchased the rights to the Power Rangers brand effectively killing the sequel that would have been made from the Power Rangers 2017 film.
