Could have been better

Most all things in Seth McFarland universe don't follow a solid line of continuity. This episode just seemed off, it could have been ALLOT funnier. Roger as cat, Stan trying to be a picker. Great starts but the half assed written jokes in execution didn't work all that great.

Continuity correction.

Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand the questions of continuity-Francine never met the Dawsons in 0304. In fact, this episode is the canonical elimination of Francine's birth family whose existence created other plot issues-for example when Hayley had kidney failure.

The mechanical nature of this episode's story leaves the plot wanting, but it is a treat to see the animators play with variations of Francine and the kids' character designs without doing the long lost doppelgängers gag.

Like most of season 12, the stream of one-liners and cultural references, both overt and subtle carry the episode. The copyright workaround of "Rockin Robert" is a personal favorite.

Does continuity not matter?

American Dad explored this in "Big Trouble in Little Langley". Established that Francine was basically abandoned. Should've had her deal with that.

Family Plan

Warning: Spoilers
It wasn't all bad. The stuff with Roger as the cat was funny, maybe you have to be a cat person like me to appreciate it, but I liked it.

The storyline with Francine was really bad though. And that was one of the weakest premises I've seen that went nowhere. Sometimes the really dumb ones end up being good, but this never came through in that regard.

One of the worst of AD, don't expect too much.
bushd09 August 2017
Although I do like some bizarre and absurd AD stories, this one was just unexciting, unfunny and barely imaginative. AD is one of my favorite shows and although this wasn't a total snorefest, it left a lot to be desired. There are no real hilarious moments, maybe a smirk here and there. The previous episode wasn't really great either, and I really hope it picks up again in the next episodes. Money is more important than waiting for Mr.Mcfarlane and his team to come up with some great episodes. It's not that I don't want more episodes, one is better than none but it's just that I'd like more quality than quantity.

...in Little Langley was the episode where Stan tracked down Francine's real parents! NO NO NO! I expect continuity when it comes to this stuff. I mean come on!!?
