With Love is Blind airing one of its most dramatic seasons to date, Netflix is already hyping up the reunion episode.
The streaming service on Tuesday announced we'll get updates on all of the season's couples very soon.
The reunion special has been penciled in for Sunday, October 15, 2023.
Instead of premiering in the morning like other episodes this season, the episode will be available to stream beginning at 8/7c on the streamer.
The big surprise? Netflix won't be going live this time.
As you'll recall, the previous reunion was heavily promoted as a live affair, only to be hit with countless technical issues that left fans waiting longer for their reality TV fix than planned.
"To everyone who stayed up late, woke up early, gave up their Sunday afternoon… we are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not turn out as we had planned," Netflix said of the incident in April.

Stacy Snyder thinks she’s found love with Izzy Zapata on Love Is Blind Season 5. But will financial differences sink this relationship before it really gets off the ground? After they emerged from the pods, the new couple quickly discovered that lifestyle-wise, they weren’t necessarily on the same page. Stacy was ambitious and focused on the finer things in life, while Izzy came from a more modest background.
The differences in their situation were obvious when Stacy visited Izzy’s bachelor pad apartment, where she was horrified to discover his cabinet was filled with paper plates and disposable plastic cups, rather than real dishes. Meanwhile, she’s made it clear that she expected him to pay for dinners out and share in her love of travel and jet-setting lifestyle. In short, Stacy expects a certain level of luxury in her life, and if Izzy can’t keep up, it...

Love is Blind has been a bonafide success for Netflix since its launch in 2020.
The show's success was highlighted earlier this year when a live reunion special was marred by technical difficulties, leading to uproar from passionate fans who lit up social media with criticism.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the reality tv hit's creator Chris Coelen opened up about his reaction to the reunion not airing live.
"I lost my mind," he told the outlet, adding:
"I was sitting in front of my TV like, 'What is happening? Give me the updates. What's going on?'"
Coelen said, "it was Netflix's idea to do a live reunion."
"They came to us, and we all had some misgivings about it… So we weren't actually producing it."
"Normally in that situation, I'd be in the control room. I'd be in the host's ear."
"And I wasn't. But I...

While House of the Dragon managed to continue filming abroad amid the SAG-AFTRA strike, Interview With the Vampire has been halted in Prague.
Deadline revealed Monday morning that the AMC vampire drama has paused production until the strike is resolved.
The news is a bit surprising in the wake of the House of the Dragon Season 2 shoot resuming, but Deadline notes that some of the cast filming Interview With the Vampire Season 2 are SAG members.
It's unclear how far the series based on the Anne Rice novels was in the production process, but it had been filming since April.
AMC had not announced a premiere window for the series, but it is expected to be heavily featured at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.
While the cast and writers can no longer attend, it seems AMC is pressing on with its plans for Sdcc.

When Mara Brock Akil set out to write, produce and direct the series premiere for her new Own drama “Love Is___” she says she wanted to share the story of black love with a wider audience.
“I don’t really think we’ve really seen the humanity of black love deep enough,” she explains. “I treated the direction of this almost like an independent film or a foreign film because…that is how I feel our existence is in this country is. We’re foreigners, so we have to tell our stories in ways that celebrate our own beauty and even our own flaws. And we invite the audience into that conversation so it will then open them up and the conversation will evolve.”
The series, which is set in the 1990s, centers on a young couple in the earliest days of their courtship. Nuri, played by Michele Weaver, is based on Brock Akil,...

Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is…tediously sincere. An autobiographical reimagining of the marriage between producers Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil (Girlfriends, Being Mary Jane, The Game, Black Lightning), Own’s syrupy immersion romance Love Is__ leads with a 1990s meet-tepid between two Hollywood wannabes and then glides along like molasses, allowing low-stakes minutiae to dominate the plotting.
Due to a narrational framing device set in a future where the older couple waxes euphoric about their personal and professional achievements, the series is less a “will they or won’t they” rollercoaster than a “when they and how they”...

Own’s latest relationship drama, Love Is___, is a look back at the humble beginnings of TV power couple Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil.
“It really came from a conversation I’ve been having specifically with Black women,” said creator and executive producer Brock Akil on the genesis on the project. Speaking on a panel discussion at the annual American Black Film Festival, the creator behind shows like Girlfriends and Being Mary Jane said she’d often get inquiries from Black females on how she and husband Salim Akil were able to maintain such as strong relationship within the confines of Hollywood.
“I wanted to share what my journey is like and what his journey is like. I think now is a time in which we need love in a narrative. It has been missing for some time in a sincere way.”

Romantic comedies are surprisingly rare on television. Recently, if a show could at all be described as romantic and/or a comedy, there’s usually been a biting twist as if the show wanted to distance itself from any trace of saccharine storytelling. Shows like FX’s “You’re The Worst,” HBO’s “Insecure,” and Netflix’s recently concluded “Love” hinge on romance, but funnel it all through a purposefully cynical, acidic point of view.
“Love Is…” is not that kind of TV rom-com. Based on the real life relationship of creator Mara Brock Akil (“Being Mary Jane”) and executive producer Salim Akil (“Black Lightning”), “Love Is” embraces a far more traditionally swoony kind of romance, even down to the “When Harry Met Sally” style framing device of 2027 Nuri (Wendy Davis) and Yasir (Clarke Peters) telling the story of their 30 year romance straight to camera.

The seventh annual Atx Television Festival, held in Austin, Texas this June, premiered new series (HBO’s “Sharp Objects”) and seasons (“NBC’s “Trial & Error”) and held in-depth conversations with creatives and executives in the television business that ranged from pitching series to dealing with the #MeToo movement on-screen.
Variety was on the ground at the festival to cover the news and events. Here, we break down 10 key takeaways.

Salim Akil was not behind Mara Brock Akil’s plan to create a drama based on their real life relationship. “But as her friend, I couldn’t tell her what to do with her art,” he acknowledged. Oprah Winfrey always wanted to work with Mara Brock Akil, but even the queen of all media didn’t know if she had a shot.
She remembers seeing Brock Akil at Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon about five years ago.
