Ben is working for Grand Ouest, a major regional daily. She gets a tip about the body of a student - before the police. The case brings up painful parts of her childhood.
Ben witnesses the abduction of a young woman who is pregnant. In her efforts to find her, she comes up against a criminal network offering surrogacy to childless couples.
Gunshots are heard near a day care and Ben rushes to the scene. She is knocked down by the killer. At the same time, Ben continues to try to find out about her child, one that she was forced to abandon years ago.
