  Klaus Mikaelson : [comes nearer]  I've not lived an honorable life. You know that. But doing this... taking the darkness into myself so no one else is afflicted by it... that is an honorable death, and I can do that, I can do it, Hope. Because you've helped me feel something that I never thought was possible. Unconditional love.

  [much tears] 

  Klaus Mikaelson : You're my daughter. My heir. You're my heart.

  [hugs her close] 

• Hope Mikaelson : I wanna go with you.

  Klaus Mikaelson : I don't think that's a good idea.

  Hope Mikaelson : I'm gonna make you proud. I'm not saying I won't go through a period where I get irresponsible tattoos and... date older men... but I'm going back to school... and I'll be okay...

  [sighs] 

  Hope Mikaelson : because I'm a Mikaelson. And I promise you... I'm gonna do right by our name.

  Klaus Mikaelson : I know you will.

  [his hand goes to her shoulder] 

  Klaus Mikaelson : I love you.

  [she sobs]

  Hope Mikaelson : [tearfully]  I love you too.

  [they're going to kiss farewell now] 

  Hope Mikaelson : How do we do this?

  Klaus Mikaelson : I wish I knew.

• Hope Mikaelson : [as Klaus is about to stake his own heart]  Dad! What's going on here?

  Klaus Mikaelson : [yelling at Elijah]  Get her out of the way!

  Elijah Mikaelson : [to Klaus]  Your death is not the answer.

  Hope Mikaelson : Death? What are you talking about?

• Klaus Mikaelson : Would you even be here... if I had longer to live?

  Caroline Forbes : Maybe I'd let you chase me around for a few more centuries. That was always the fun part, anyway.

  [chuckles] 

  Caroline Forbes : Say goodbye to your daughter, Klaus. Give her real closure.

  Klaus Mikaelson : Closure is a myth.

  [sips drink] 

  Caroline Forbes : Look, what you're doing is noble. But if you don't say goodbye, if... if you leave Hope with questions, and pain and anger, you"ll haunt her. And I don't think that's your endgame.
