Ashmole 782 , might be an allusion to the Ashmolian museum, an arm of Oxford University, which was centers on the curious oddities of the museum founder Elias Ashmole. The first building dedicated to the museum was erected in 1678-83 and given to the University in 1677. The present building was erected 1841-45.
