- Lagherta organizes the residents of her village to defend against the outlaws. They defeat the bandits led by White Hair but the price is high and tragic. Olaf summons Bjorn to a meeting with him and Harald and he accepts. In the meeting, Olaf proposes a surprising destiny to Scandinavia. In Kattegat, Ubbe is discouraged to give a chance to the alcoholic Hvitserk in the trade mission. - Bjorn and Harald are pleasantly surprised that triumphant Olaf offers to release them and forge an alliance to unite Norway under king Bjorn. Regent Ubbe proclaims Hvitserk leader of the delegation to establish trade links between Kattegat and the Silk Road states, but bitterly has to expel his intoxicated brother unable to shed his opium addiction. Having bonded with Igor, Ivar is pleased to be the spearhead of prince Oleg's advanced plans to conquer Scandinavia, but highly interested in betraying Oleg for his caged 'dog brother Dir, who promises Ivar the world is freed before the winter kills him.
