Nothing really matters anymore
mwen001-28 November 2018
HOC always was a show which was not close to the reality or relevant but with episode they loosing it! Syria! Really? Now years into the horrific war they come up with a kindergarten style episode of how they divide up the country? Never have seen something do unrealistic and small! Also visually btw...very small in every way

I think this should be under goofs

I don't think protocol allows both President and Vice President to travel together in the same car or any other form of transportation

The real reason for low ratings
francogrex4 June 2022
All that has been said in the reviews is correct to some extent. The plot and the acting are bad, especially the plot and the low ratings are justifiable. But the real and maybe subconscious reason for the very low ratings of season 6 is that there is no Kevin Spacey (he got canceled you all know that right?). The transition from the previous seasons to 6 is very non-smooth.

Still don't know what's going on
Debette-125 November 2018
Here we are on episode 4, and we have no idea what's going on. Ever since the first episode of this season, we have felt like we're waiting for clarity on what's going on, why it's going on, and who's doing it - and as of yet, we don't really know. Obviously the Shepherds are pulling her strings, but why? And what is their agenda, and why is Claire being so weak? Is anyone else confused???

They should have changed the title to How To Get Away With Murder
panlasa5 November 2018
I'm confused, I can't tell if I'm watching House of Cards or How To Get Away With Murder. Seriously. Is this still a political show? Then why is everything solved with murder?!?!?!?

I am not talking about Spacey; ok, he is out. Did you really have to screw the plot??

"You sound like a gangster"
TheLittleSongbird18 August 2020
Season 6 is widely considered the worst 'House of Cards' season, and near-universally maligned for reasons more than understandable. Personally absolutely agree with this consensus and the reasons given for the bad reception, and this is coming from somebody who felt this way before reading any reviews to begin with but didn't know how to articulate them. That was before reading some and seeing how they felt the same way and don't have much to add.

Was hugely underwhelmed by all the previous three episodes of Season 6, but, while most of the next four episodes managed to fare even worse, for me up to this point of the season "Chapter 69" managed to be the worst yet. None of the flaws in the previous three episodes, all the same pretty much are improved upon and are actually even worse here. And it further manages to be a bloated, claustrophobic, dull and ridiculous episode with no cohesion or complex character writing in sight.

As almost always for 'House of Cards', "Chapter 69" is a slick and stylish looking episode. The odd nice bit in the music.

The only character here to semi-intrigue and be remotely plausible compared to everybody else is Petrov. And it is Lars Mikkelsen who gives the best performance, posing more of a threat in this episode alone than Claire and the Shepherds did all season.

On the other hand, everything else pretty much doesn't work. The dialogue continues to be the complete opposite of the writing in Seasons 1-4, the worst of it really risible. The staleness and awkwardness has not only not gone away it pretty much intensified here. Claire is a flat character who has yet to make a decision that progresses the plot or is logical and Robin Wright continues to look out of her depth. The episode tries to do too much, with too many ideas, none original and none really going anywhere, while also feeling slow-moving and flimsy. When there is any attempt at moving anything forward it comes over as contrived and silly.

Furthermore, there are too many characters, even for the type of episode it was meant to be, and too many of them are superfluous to what's going on and have no development to them, also like the writers had forgotten what they were like in previous appearances. Only Petrov properly rings true here. "Chapter 69" also feels incredibly convoluted with nothing making much sense, absolutely agree that we are four episodes in this season and understanding what's going on is practically impossible. The main plot line by the end is truly far fetched, in a way that really insults the viewer.

In summation, another very weak episode sad to say. 3/10

Claustrophobic
Hitchcoc5 November 2018
The whole set of characters gyrates and collides at the gathering, following Catherine's memorial service. Clair begins to lay down land mines as she negotiates away from the powerful, having an agenda of her own. The Shepherd's are furious and see her aberrant behavior as a way to get what they want. Meanwhile, Doug is privy to an amazing secret that will guide him through the remainder of this final season. Jane becomes more and more abrasive, and while Claire uses her power base, we know who's in charge. Of course, I won't give it away, but there is a powerful last minute.

Haven't a clue
queencatt7 June 2022
I watched all 5 seasons before this , over a short space of time and now on episode 4 of season 6 and haven't got a clue what it's about. It's terrible, it really is . What a shame I absolutely loved the other 5 seasons and Kevin Spacey was brilliant. I will stick it out , well only 4 episodes to go, thank god!!

Not bad season so far
85122214 July 2019
Greetings from Lithuania.

Maybe "House of Cards" isn't in this last season as good as it sometimes was (most of it), but it still a not bad series if you ask me. Its still has involving writing, superb acting and solid directing. And the only reason why i'm not rating it higher is because of story. Its not the best series has seen so far, but on the other hand with only 4 episodes left i do wan't to see of how they will end it.

I quit
Talos21 December 2018
I have watched every episode until this one. I made it to half of Episode 4 or chapter 69....whatever. THIS SHOW HAS LOST ITS WAY. I am bored and confused. I quit! There are more interesting shows and movies to watch.
