Pommel is a claustrophobic essay on the dangers of parental favouritism, parental pressure to achieve, and the attendant sibling rivalry. Beautifully acted by the two young leads, who were not actors (they are gymnasts), they offer a convincing portrayal of brotherhood in a difficult situation.

First - great performances of the two young lead actors. Second - precise portrait of sibling relations , covered in heartbreaking realism. Not the last, wise reflection of parents ambition about their children. A story of rivalry , angry and grief. One of the most impressive because it is just great in each detail.
