Emotional

I always like seeing Brian and Stewie together. This episode showed how sweet Brian can be, even tho he is a deuce sometimes. The side story with Peter brought balance into this episode BUT I would've like this more if it was more like the "Road to" episode which mainly focus on Brian and Stewie.

I actually cried at the end. This may sound a bit stupid but I physically felt the ending. It really hit where it needed to hit me and I get that feeling very rarely nowadays.

❤ Very heartwarming ❤

one of the better episodes
zzcool50015 January 2018
I always find family guy to be something i just watch waiting for something to happen, it's mostly just filler that leaves no memorable moments apart from the stewie and briand episodes even those aren't very serious any more it's just ehh most of the time and rarely plotdriven, but i like the characters and animation so i watch it, this episode however suprised me it felt very much like a movie and unlike most family guy episodes i have seen in a very long time, it's one of the best episodes i have seen of family guy, it didn't feel like a random filler with boring jokes it actually felt like a story it was very un family guy.

A sincere tribute

Warning: Spoilers
I love the dynamic and the stories that Brian and stewie have, It's always so real and relatable to the struggles and loses that we encounter in our daily lives, and this episode was no different. Also it was a really nice and subtle tribute to Paul Walker which brought tears to my eyes and actually pushed me to write this review.

Amazing

I loved the entire episode. But the ending actually got me to choke up. For the first time, it seemed that family guy was being sincere. There were still light hearted jokes, but the main plot seemed to me was an actual story. I would even dare to say that there was some character developement for Brian and Stewie.

I loved the whole episode. From the emotional heartwarming moments of Brian and Stewie to the hilarious epic moments of Peter this episode was superbly well-written. Hands down best season so far. I can't for the next episodes of this freakin sweet show.

I would say that this was just another basic episode. Nothing special. Didn't laugh.

Beautiful Brian and Stewie Episode
jpenguin15 January 2018
This episode was really heartfelt and made me tear up at the ending. The side plot with Peter was also amusing and lighthearted. I loved the part about Joe's bitmoji being able to walk. Great job Seth MacFarlane and friends.

Now THIS is a serious episode done right!

Warning: Spoilers
This review will contain spoilers. So if you don't wanna be spoiled, don't read this yet until you watch the episode yourself.

In this episode, Brian in a drunken rage tears up Stewie's teddy bear Rupert. So Stewie goes to Vermont to spread Rupert's ashes. While Stewie is unable to forgive Brian for tearing up his best friend, it's very dramatic and sad that Stewie doesn't have his bear with him anymore.

After they reach to the top of a mountain, Brian and Stewie begin to spread Rupert's ashes and it's very sad to watch. And Stewie says Brian doesn't have many years to live which is true because Dogs can die at least 10 years. Then Brian buys Stewie another bear which looks exactly like Rupert and it ends with Stewie smiling and Rupert up into the sky.

See this is how Family Guy should do dramatic episodes unlike other times where they failed. Also the side plot is good too. Peter shakes hands with the Boo Berry mascot and never washes that hand again. Then the hand starts getting more dirty and instead of trying to make it disgusting looking, they make it funny by having it look like a field of grass.

In my opinion, Dog Bites Bear is a Modern Family Guy episode that people need to watch if you wanna watch heartwarming content.

Favourite Recent Brian & Stewie Episode

Warning: Spoilers
Oh yes. Dog Bites Bear.

This episode... Is amazing. I can't show all my love I got for this episode but its surprising they got Brian and Stewie's character right. But the follow up episode really ruined Stewie but we don't talk about that.

This episode reminds me of "Road To Rupert" but I think it's INSANELY better. Brian doesn't feel forced AT ALL and knowing why Stewie cares for a stuffed toy it's depressing. He knows Brian will die soon and Rupert will stay with him forever.

Plot B was great too, amazing balance to a sad plot, just like Brian Wallows and Peter's Slallows.

Overall it's an Amazing Episode 10/10.

RIP Rupert I
Dfjord15 January 2018
A grab-bag. Some jokes hit: fist-bumping vultures. The pleasantries with the hikers. Some missed: periods are gross (I've never encountered anyone who thinks this). There were about three or four anal jokes for some reason. I know anuses are automatically funny, but they're not THAT automatically funny. Other material seemed kind of forced, like Chris' quinceanera business--yet another joke about something that is supposed to be ipso facto funny.

But the premise of the show is a good one. Brian chews up Rupert. It's one of those simple and natural story ideas that somehow no one ever thought of before. And the emotions behind it were interesting. So the basic elements for a great show were there. I think all that was missing was the execution. Too bad. Could've been a classic.

Unexpected
ilovellamasmobilegames28 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Well, I can't say I ever expected Seth MacFarlane to make me cry over a dead teddy bear, but here we are. I'm honestly surprised this episode isn't rated higher. I can't think of many Family Guy episodes I've seen that are better than this. This was a very unexpected but, in my opinion, very well executed episode. This is at least in my top 10 Family Guy episodes of all time, and definitely in my top 5 for the episodes from the middle seasons. This kind of tearjerker episode wouldn't usually fit into a show like Family Guy, but they still managed to pull it off. It's the perfect combination of lighthearted comedy and sentimental plot points.

Dog Bites Bear

Warning: Spoilers
When you give Stewie and Brian a lot of scenes together you are going to get something good, but this was not as strong as some of those "Road To" or long journey episodes between the friends.

We're missing those cutaways that Family Guy is famous for as well.
