One of the show's best attempts at doing a "theme" episode

Stewie and Brian as Holmes and Watson was a perfectly natural choice for the characters and everything works pretty well here. The jokes are fairly strong and come fast and furious. Plus, the writers didn't overdose on their fondness of broad British stereotypes like I was worried they might.

Family Guy is back to it's best with "V is for Mystery"
liamhorsfall26 March 2018
Season 16 has been a tough one for the writers at Family Guy. Previous episodes in the season have left audiences wondering if the (usually very funny) series is coming to a painful halt, and those pondering were left with near-to-no doubt when Family Guy's last episode "Send in Stewie, Please" became the series' lowest rated episode since it's Pilot in 1999.

However, "V is for Myster" is a sign that perhaps life at the Family Guy offices is set to role on. Quick-whitted jabs at the weirdness of life in the Victorian era, mixed with clever pop culture references and typical Stewie & Brian hilarity are all reasons to be very happy with the latest offering from Seth MacFarlane and co.

Although the ending may not be quite as satisfactory as one would hope it to be, I cannot complain. In what has been a disappointing season of unneccessary sex references, weak storylines and (at times) poor scripting, "V is for Mystery" tells me that there is light at the end of the foggy tunnel.

And now I shall await the Family Guy-Harry Potter crossover episode.

Hmm sometimes I can't understand why they're making identical The Simpsons and Family Guy episodes. That's lame.

I Love Any Brian and Stewie episode

Brian and Stewie are two of my favourite characters and they work so well together and I do love these episodes. Sherlock Holmes is one of my favourite fictional characters and having Brian and Stewie as Sherlock and Watson was well done and the storyline - perfect! So many laughs - it's refreshing to know this show still has it and there have been a few low episodes but this season {minus one episode} has been amazing

Warning: Spoilers
Peter Griffin briefly appearing as Peter Griffin to let us know we'll be back to a normal episode next week was probably the highlight here.

Look, there were a few things I chuckled at, but the whole notion of doing a Sherlock parody now, awhile since Season 4 of that show wrapped, and not really sure if they wanted to mock the books, the TV series or just English culture in general made for a very uneven episode.

Good episode

Soooooooo much better than the last episode. Still has some faults. Like how does Peters character have two right hands, then the next shot, they're normal? Just little nit picky things.
