Dislike when shows have such big mistakes

Warning: Spoilers
Although it's a stretch, the FBI and other investigative agencies do use consultants routinely including former criminals for their expertise. So the premise of the show isn't absurb like many think except that they don't use them all the time. The hole here is the CIA using a team on like was shown in the subway. If they had, Kay would have been required to arrest them.Maybe her ex liked when she used her handcuffs?

Enough story for a feature film!

This series is pretty derivative. There are echoes of other shows, you know, the amateur working with professionals, a mission impossible type team that trick the bad guys weekly, a charming leading man falling for the lady cop/FBI agent/spy, etc. But there's the writing that puts this series above the rest. The show has it's own running back story, plus the case of the week, plus multiple side stories, which should make this a convuleted mess, but the writing soars above it's own limits. This particular episode which weaves stories of deceptions and multiple betrayals scores just runs along nicely, and charms at every turn. I'm really bummed there's no second season, but I'm going to check the people behind the scenes for their next projects. Look out for Greg Berlanti, John A. Norris as writers and producers, as well as Chris Federer.
