  Kate Ryan : What? He's back already? What was he doing in Colorado, anyways?

  FBI Agent Daniel Zain : He wouldn't say.

  Kate Ryan : Well, you're an interrogator, Daniel. Can't you pull it out of him?

  FBI Agent Daniel Zain : Even I'm not that good.

• FBI Agent Daniel Zain : What is going on, Will? Why is Erica Shepherd sitting in our office?

  Will Keaton : Bregman wanted to bring her in because he thinks she can help catch Tal.

  Kate Ryan : And you went along with it?

  Will Keaton : I didn't have a choice.

  FBI Agent Jason Bragg : You sure, Will? 'Cause it kind of looks like we just gave the worst traitor in the last fifty years a visitor's badge.

  Will Keaton : Either we work with Shepherd, or Bregman's gonna assign the case to someone that will.

  Kate Ryan : But...

  Will Keaton : But what, Kate?

  Kate Ryan : What about Laine?

  Will Keaton : The man that killed Laine is still out there. If I have to work with the devil to catch Tal, I will.

• Will Keaton : Where are we on the car shooting in Philly?

  FBI Agent Daniel Zain : Witnesses report seeing two men riding motorcycles, but no license plate numbers or descriptions of the drivers.

  Will Keaton : Video?

  Kate Ryan : There's no security cameras on the country roads, but I'm searching other sources.

  Will Keaton : What about the bombing in New York? What do we know?

  FBI Agent Daniel Zain : Not a lot. Forensics are still working on the cause of the explosion.

  Will Keaton : Tell me we have something on the Union Station hit.

  FBI Agent Jason Bragg : Well, Metro PD's still processing the scene. I mean, it could be tomorrow morning until we get anything useful.

  Will Keaton : Okay, it's been sixteen hours and we have nothing.

  Erica Shepherd : That's because you're dealing with Mikhail Tal. He knows how your investigation works and he knows how to beat it. That's why he's still out there. To find him, you have to start pulling on threads that you never thought to before.

• Erica Shepherd : In the past, Tal was known to go after his targets' cell phones.

  Will Keaton : Kate?

  Kate Ryan : Uh, we checked the recovered cells. There's no sign of cloning.

  Erica Shepherd : That's because he doesn't clone them. He rips them.

  FBI Agent Jason Bragg : What's the difference?

  Kate Ryan : Cloning lets you see incoming calls and texts. It's like listening in on a second line. Ripping is when you make a digital copy of the phone. It is also impossible to detect.

  Erica Shepherd : Almost impossible. When a cell is being ripped, it can't receive incoming calls.

  FBI Agent Jason Bragg : So...?

  Erica Shepherd : So if a call comes in during the twenty-minute process, it shows up on the phone records...

  Erica Shepherd , Kate Ryan : But not...

  Kate Ryan : ...on the phone itself.

  Erica Shepherd : You find the discrepancy, and you not only find evidence of a ripped phone, but you find the exact time and date that it happened.

  Will Keaton : Unless you're lying to us. Unless you're telling us anything to keep us from following the real leads.

  Erica Shepherd : You're right, Agent Keaton. I could be lying. But you're still gonna check those phone records, unless you wanna keep searching for video surviellance of coutry roads.

  Will Keaton : If you're wrong about this, you're on a plane back to ADMAX tonight.

• Kate Ryan : Treasury official Joseph Sebring had a call come in at 3:28 p.m. on Tuesday, the 13th. But the call never showed up on the phone. That's impossible, unless Shepherd was right.

  Will Keaton : So how'd he do it?

  Kate Ryan : Tal, or somebody working for him, would need to be within ten feet of the target's cell in order to rip it remotely.

  Will Keaton : Which means we're looking for someone who was within ten feet of Sebring at 3:28 on the 13th.

  Kate Ryan : [over the next scene]  We've got her. She's a hacker named Ines Nguyen. We caught her on security footage at a cafe with Sebring.

• Erica Shepherd : How long have you been at the FBI, Agent Ryan?

  Kate Ryan : Six years.

  Erica Shepherd : Have you always been in counterintelligence?

  Kate Ryan : Yes.

  Erica Shepherd : Under Agent Keaton?

  Kate Ryan : Yes?

  Erica Shepherd : How long have you been in love with him?

• FBI Agent Daniel Zain : Here's who we're looking for: Victor Nemec. 43 years old. Wanted by seven different countries for espionage and political assassination. We checked his last known address, came up empty, same with known associates. Let's concentrate on his cell.

  Will Keaton : Kate, now where are you on that trace?

  Kate Ryan : Nemec's cell pinged off of a tower near the bombing site 36 hours ago, but nothing since then.

  FBI Agent Jason Bragg : 78 minutes after the attack, somebody texted Nemec a photo from a blocked number.

  FBI Agent Daniel Zain : The Seine River in Paris?

  Will Keaton : That building right there. What is that?

  FBI Agent Jason Bragg : Yeah, we looked into it. It's a children's hospital.

  Will Keaton : Well, why is Nemec being sent a map of a children's hospital in Paris?

  Erica Shepherd : He's not.

• Erica Shepherd : It's called a location cutout. It's been decades since they were used. They were common spycraft for the Soviet nations during the Cold War. Correspondence was constantly intercepted back then. So operatives couldn't risk sending a map of their actual location. So they would send a section of a map from a different city that looked like theirs. A cutout. Most cities have similar features, right? Roads, bridges, parks. In this case...

  Will Keaton : An island. Nemec was last seen in Brooklyn. Kate, pull it.

  Kate Ryan : Already on it.

  FBI Agent Daniel Zain : The Governors Island is closest to Brooklyn. Try that one.

  Will Keaton : [no match]  No. What else is nearby?

  FBI Agent Jason Bragg : Roosevelt.

  Will Keaton : Pull that up.

  [the two look similar] 

  Will Keaton : Overlayer.

  [the two maps match] 

  Will Keaton : That building that's pinned on the Roosevelt map. What is that?

  Kate Ryan : It's an apartment building.

  Will Keaton : We got Nemec. Danyal, call the New York office. Get 'em on that building ASAP. How long for the plane?

  FBI Agent Daniel Zain : If we leave now, we can be wheels up in twenty minutes.

  FBI Agent Jason Bragg : [indicating Erica]  Whoa, whoa. What about Hannibal Lecter?

• Will Keaton : Hey, Kate, what's up?

  Kate Ryan : Shepherd's taken into custody and is being escorted back to holding.

  Will Keaton : Any word on Nemec?

  Kate Ryan : A silver sedan was spotted entering the Pier 19 shipping terminal.

  Will Keaton : Daniel, we got Nemec. Pier 19.

  Kate Ryan : Be careful!
