Brilliant writing, maybe the best episode so far!
Wow... that was intense! Actor Cameron Monaghan promised us three great episodes for Season 4's finale and, heck, he meant it.

In the first minutes of the episode you're like "what?" and you are scratching your head, trying to figure how the ending of episode 18 connects with this one and Gotham gives a great answer to that!

Cameron Monaghan's acting is brilliant, he may be the most talented actor of the whole cast and he gives a brilliant two-way performance.

I don't wanna say anything else, just see for yourselves.

P.S. FOX, just renew this wonderful show already!

Jerome takes the lead
Lot's of crazy stuff happening, which is why I love this show.

Jeremiah is very different from Jerome, but still a very effective character. Even though his relationship with Bruce happens a little too quickly for my taste, they work really well together.

There's more general chaos from Jerome's followers and I love how over-the-top they all are. The scary jester outfit is appropriately creepy.

All the other characters have some fun stuff to do amidst the chaos. (Though I get a little tired of the ol' Penguin petulantly trying to revive his criminal empire schtick.)

Let the madness begin!
highmarksreviews5 May 2018
While it was a shame to see Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) go, the writer's clearly had faith in the actor and themselves to pull massive twists to keep the "Joker craze" going and work really well. Jeremiah's story has unfolded superbly as we now begin to clearly see the fourth season for what it will become. The show also managed to cut side-stories to focus specifically on Bruce (David Mazouz) and Jeremiah's chemistry, which has been spot-on these last episodes. As it stands, I don't know why they decided to shoehorn Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) into the mix, as his few minutes of dull "I want to be a crime lord but I kind of have to fix my henchman" lines could have been better spent on other things. One last minor gripe with this chapter of Gotham, is the villain. It is clear at this point that Jerome's twin is up to something, but the season only has about three episodes left to prove him a tangible threat. I do believe that he can become a memorable and menacing antagonist though and "That Old Corpse" does a stellar job of setting up the final showdown to come.
