Timmy & Armie and a great cause
Rodrigo_Amaro9 September 2020
This Omaze and Sony Pictures Classics initiative was priceless and amazingly created. I never heard of a similar event happening before in relation to the Oscars pre-dinner parties but everything's so right with it it hurts (in a good way). I'd like to see more of those so stay with me for this writing journey.

The stars of "Call Me By Your Name" Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer appeared in this video to choose one lucky fan to attend a pre-Oscar party with them, have a great time, take pictures, a couple of drinks and win a book signed by them and other major people involved with the film. Excellent. What the girl or guy needed to do? Sign up for the campaign to win and any kind of contribution for two charitable instituions (one was the LBGT center in New York of which Lil Timmy Tim has mentioned in other awards red carpet and interviews). So basically, it goes back to the movie in the sense it's to a support a cause related with the main characters, it'd help people in need for those communities, and it's all good...everybody wins even though just one fan got the chance to meet the actors.

In case, you're wondering a young girl by the name Lucy was the lucky winner and Omaze made another video with her reaction after hearing the news - too bad Hammer & Chalamet didn't appear as a surprise there. (I had to research this, so it's verified. The campaign was real - follow-up's are so rare that we doubt sometimes).

Anyway, the promo for such campaign consists of this description I've just made but there's some input of mine included, an after-thought. Obviously Timmy and Armie have that charisma and presence that really convince people to join their cause and have the opportunity of getting to know a little about the duo's experience in the 2017 award winning movie. They are adorable together, great friends in real-life too but it's the performer of Elio Perlman who steals the show with his non-scripted reaction to something Hammer says about the campaign. It's a hilarious moment from both (Armie for his delivery of a line and Timothée's geniune burst-out laughter). It's all good!

It doesn't get a higher note from me because it's too short. Well, it's an ad so it couldn't go on longer but with those two beautiful creatures...I can only hope for the film sequel and hopefully another campaign just as this one. 8/10
