Burke and Hare
bobcobb30111 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
It looks like the producers took the notes that every viewer had and cut back on the narration and instead let the actors tell the story.

This was a good story here, and it was sad that a law actually had to be passed to stop corpse trade.

It ran too long though. A half hour worked, this was almost an hour for no reason.

Good but not the same - the narration is missing!!

I really enjoyed the first season. The narration, the music, the graphics. It was all so good!! This episode was really interesting but without Aaron Mahnke's narration it's just not the same! That's what made Lore so special. It wasn't just the acting. It's the explanation, background and context that was giving to the viewers. The writing on the screen can't replace that. I will continue to watch the second season but I think they made a huge mistake when they dropped the narration, which is probably why the show got canceled. Such a shame! It's such a missed opportunity! Lore really is a unique and interesting show, especially for horror fans. Maybe Prime Video can bring it back one day for a third season? I really hope so!! :(

Nice

First episode of the second season that identifies a colossal change of the series that in my opinion impoverishes it a lot, apart from this, however, the episode is very beautiful and valid and entertains a lot.

I disagree with removal of Narration.
pookiain30 October 2018
Aron's Narration brought to show more than just drama, it was like a watching history happen. The haunting music in season one gave a more "how do I say it, a lore like feeling". Now the same data is displayed as text in the show.. I would have loved the narration. But many don't like it.. I can see why, they want to be there in midst of lore rather than being told about it.. I still like this Show and series, Just miss some of the Narration..

Excellent New Territory for a Beloved Show

Loved this episode! This season of Lore marks a continuation of a well-adapted, beautifully-written series. The direction and acting make for haunting viewing. The move away from the narration of season one was such a wise choice, and the show feels more immediate, more graphic (in a good way), and much more vibrant now. The show writing is smooth, believable, and puts the viewer into the world of Lore in a way that Aaron Mahnke should be proud of. Can't recommend it highly enough.

What happened?

I really enjoyed Season 1, both the narration and the music. Now they've dumped the narration and they're playing hard rock under a story set in the 1820s. Really throws me out of the era and that light creepy underscoring from season 1 really worked!

Lore?

Warning: Spoilers
Not liking that there is no narration. When there was narration, there was background information that helped explain what made that particular episode part of the Lore. I do not see any lore connection with this story. It was about a couple of guys that murdered people for money, donating the bodies to a doctor for research. That is not lore. That is just murder.

I looked up more information on these two people and some of the information shown in this episode is wrong. They were married, not single. Their wives were in on it with them.

Not like season one
Fredrates1 November 2018
I'm a big fan of the podcast and of season one and everything else Aaron does. But this episode just did not hold my interest at all . I don't even know if the topic of this episode could be considered "lore". It didn't feel like a lore episode. Actually worried about this season now .
