An enjoyable episode here that gave us both a nature lesson on the fact that there are forests often where we don't think there are and how to plan an escape when your partner gets kidnapped.

Good episode here. I will always approve of an episode that uses walkie talkies.

Not how Vandenberg would do things

I used to live on Vandenberg. I have even seen a spy satellite blow up during launch. They would never launch a missile to the east, over land. It's dangerous for exactly the reasons this episode shows: the debris would fall onto people, or it would fall onto dry California hills starting wildfires. Vandenberg would launch to the south, for a polar orbit, or to the west. Spy satellites are usually in polar orbits, so a long elliptical orbit gives it more time to see the earth.

Even if they did such a launch, the base is right there. There would be no need to set up a command center in a tent.

The reason rockets are shot from Vandenberg is because it is next to the ocean. Payload would land in water.
