Great Season (so far)
hectorschimul22 October 2018
Another episode that proves that TWD is coming back. Judith's scene with Michonne and Rick is so good to see that I've been waiting for more times like that. Good work Angela Kang

Careful with Reviews

I have read reviews here over the last 9 seasons. As we got later into the seasons, some people complained more about the action. Honestly - these folks need to read the comic. TWD comic slows down and focuses on internal human struggles to survive. Man against man. This episoide depicts the subthemes present in later TWD comic issues. Don't fall for the critics that need blood and gore every 20 seconds. Focus on the human element and it's need to survive. TWD writing this season is on par with seasons 1-3.

Tense Episode
claudio_carvalho23 October 2018
When Justin is found dead and Arat disappears, there is friction in the camp with the Saviors that feel unprotected and suspicious, risking Rick´s plans of living again in civilization. Rick teams up with Daryl, Maggie, Carol and a small group to seek out the killer to reduce the tension with the Saviors. While walking with Maggie, Daryl believes his has found out who is killing the Saviors and they head to the location where he believes Arat will be executed.

"Warning Signs" is a tense episode of "The Walking Dead" and so far the best in this Season. Maggie learns what she has trigged hanging Gregory and now the world envisioned by Rick is really in danger. My vote is nine.

Tense warning signs
TheLittleSongbird16 March 2023
Will admit to not having high expectations at all for 'The Walking Dead's' Season 9. While really liking to loving Seasons 1-5 and finding a huge amount to admire about Season 6, Seasons 7 and 8 were really not up to standard and were huge disappointments (despite having some exceptions). Especially Season 8, where the worst episodes were pretty dreadful and where many of the episodes were mediocre or less. It felt like the show had lost its identity and what made it great in the early seasons, and this viewer really did feel that it was completely dead.

The previous two episodes of Season 9 though were absolutely great and felt like 'The Walking Dead' had returned to its roots, rediscovered what made it so good in the early seasons while also starting a new chapter. This feeling continues and even more strongly with "Warning SIgns", one of the best episodes of a surprisingly good season and the best episode since Season 6's "Not Tomorrow Yet". Being the first episode since that to have for this viewer nothing wrong with it, the previous two episodes had occasional forced moments but didn't see any of those here in "Warning Signs".

It is a very stylishly and atmospherically made episode, with no signs of self indulgent gimmicks or showing off. The music is also full of atmosphere of the haunting and ominous kind, while also having emotion that is not spelled out. The more action oriented moments are thrilling, suspense laden and well choreographed with little coming over as ridiculous or chaotic.

Furthermore, the massive improvement in the writing obvious in the previous two episodes carries over into "Warning Signs". The previous two seasons had a lot of (too much) extraneous talk, long winded-ness and soap-opera, and none of that is here in a tight and thoughtful script that treats the viewer with respect. The story absorbs throughout, even when not fast paced it never felt dull and nothing for me felt confusing or over silly, a lot of it was also very tense and suspenseful in a chilling way. It also does a great job progressing what happened at the end of "The Bridge" and leaves one excited for what's to come.

None of the characters frustrated me, with none of the intelligence insultingly ridiculous and vague decision makings and motivations that plagued too much of Season 7 and nearly all of Season 8. These past three episodes have seen me connect to all the characters for the first time since the first half of Season 6. The acting is excellent all round, particularly from Andrew Lincoln.

Summing up, outstanding. 10/10.

Awesome episode
stephen-6159422 October 2018
Really good episode, nice seeing Angela tying up all the loose ends. Getting more details and clues about the helicopter. Amazing episode this is an 8.5 but i am giving it a 10 to counter the trolls giving it a 1.

Cult of Haters
dt_swift5 November 2018
I've read most of the reviews of this season so far and what struck me most is not the 10/10 possible fake reviews but the cult of haters that seem to want this show to end yet can't stop watching it! I personally love this show and yes it's had slow parts but what show hasn't! You can't keep a show going by just killing zombies every show and every 3/4 episodes somebody big dies! The haters seem to want constant action and blood! This sounds good but very very repetitive and again the haters would get bored and continue to blast this show. The show is trying to progress as they think humans would they have built such great characters and back stories that need the air time to come out and progress! If you don't like the show that's fine but don't keep watching and telling everyone else it's bad if I don't like a show I just stop watching it. This show however is still good albeit very different from the first few seasons but that's what makes it good!

Warning: Spoilers
So it seems th as though Rick's vis I on is not shared by the saviors who are mostly takers and not giveers. The plans go awry with them has a workforce. Someone is killing them there is retribution from the oceanside people. They claim Maggie's showed them the way of justice and not Rick's laws. It seems Maggie has become hard, vengeful , and bitter as the widow who is learning how to rule with an iron hand. She is not easy to like always on her own agenda of retribution. Rick appears to be too idealistic trying to please Carl's dream. He is isolated in his vision trying to keep everyone on the righteous path. The sanctuary does not survive. They basically are uncreative bullies.

How is this episode 8.4 and slowly going down!?
conca-628-18337223 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was amazing. Great character development once again, the Helicopter is slowly being unraveled and I'm excited to see what A or B MEANS.

I had to feel for Cyndie and some of the Oceanside group. Now that the saviors have left the camp, Maggie and Daryl not being on Ricks side and the Whisperers around the corner. It's going to be tough! Especially with it being Ricks last 2 episodes (I cry!). Looking forward to the next 5 eps and Ricks FINAL 2.

Warning: Spoilers
Another really mediocre Season 9 episode of the show. I see AMC using quotes saying how this is the best season in years, but it clearly isn't.

Making Maggie one of the stars of the show is an absolute mistake. Her acting seems to get worse and worse each season.

GRIMES AND MICHONNE TAKE THE DAY OFF!!!
wandernn1-81-6832747 April 2021
This one starts off with the bad boy nemesis from last episode turning.

Oh I like the Revamped Opening for the show. Just now noticing it really.

Then we move on to Rick piledriving Michonne before going to check on his lil baby. Then Rick pays a visit to Carl's grave. Then goes back and piledrives Michonne again. I really want to know who does Michonne's hair in this zombie apocycliptic world.

Maggie gets accosted in her cart by ex-Saviors looking for bad boy nemesis. LOL...then after continuing they just happen to horseback ride into bad boy nemesis zombie? OMG how dumb. -1 Star.

Gabriel covers for Garbage Lady who is suspected in killing bad boy nemesis. I guess his name was Justin. Then Garbage Lady is hiding something from Gabriel and Gabriel knows it.

Daryl and Rick have further pow wow. +1 Star for the scene with Carol and Rick. Carol knows whats going to happen. So does Daryl. But the GRIMES, he knows, every life counts now.

Oooo, garbage lady has some super secret dealings going on. Gabriel follows her and confronts her.

And Daryl and Maggie decide that the GRIMES way might not be the way anymore

Overall this ep was pretty weak. 5/10.

Now were getting somewhere!
gabriel-8023 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The first episode of season 9 was truly boring, second episode improved somewhat, and now with episode 3 the show is truly in top form. This episode is tense, surprising (didn't exepect that fate for Charles Vane) and actually suspenseful, which is not a word I have used to describe TWD in a looong time. I hope they keep it up and build on the tension. Feels organic as opposed to many of the more contrived moments in past episodes.

Everyone is a critic nowdays
clareandcy-8454323 October 2018
I don't particularly leave reviews on stuff I watch Simply because nowdays everyone is a critic. No one enjoys a movie, a tv show for what they are at the first place

I started watching walking dead since day one Yeah some episode were better than other Some were truly specials But hey here we are watching season 9 So they must be doing something right??!! Yes, it doesn't follow the comics, yes at times it a little cheesy but overall it's a great show to which I am looking forward to every weeks

The Walking Dead is getting better
kingshrfd24 October 2018
I've watched this show since season 1. But after Hershel's farm the show slowly became worse and worse. The Govenor and the prison chapter were the last good episodes and after that I just stayed to watch it, because I had nothing better to do. I wanted to see how bad the writing could become and overall just to see this show go down the drain, because it amused me. Last season I thought, this is the end for TWD, because that guy Scott Gimple did a HORRIBLE job as showrunner. I really think he identifies more with the actual zombies than the living characters of TWD, because the storyline and overall writing was so dumb, it made you feel like you are brain dead when you watched it.

But now, Angela Kang took over and season 9 of TWD really feels like a new beginning! The first three episodes instantly brought back the season 4 feeling in me and I really enjoyed watching them. TWD doesn't feel like the trainwreck it was the last three seasons and it finally managed to create a somewhat plausible and interesting storyline. I also think it is the first time, that the characters actually talk that much about events that happened in the past. In previous seasons it just felt like they all forgot what happened to them along their way and that previous events didn't have any impact, except that some of the group are dead. Now I'm actually having a kind of payoff when Rick talks about Daryls brother or Maggie about Hershel, because I was there and know it all and I can relate to their feelings, which attaches me more to the character. It is the first season where I think, that the characters havn't forgotten everything and it is the first time the past has an impact on the present. This makes it more easy for me to finally care about the characters and it reminds you of all the horrors they've been through. At the end of season 8 I was like: "I don't care who dies next, I just don't, the story is just ridiculous, the character decisions are beyond crazy and I just want this show to end the worst way possible." but now, 3 episodes into season 9 I'm more like: "I really wanna know how this all ends and I somehow hope that it has a good ending but I also know, there will be blood."

All I want is, that this show doesn't ruin its momentum like Fear The Walking Dead did. FTWD started with an, to me, interesting concept of flashbacks and present moments and it really made me curious what happened at the stadium and how all of them ended up the way they did, but the execution was so bad (so really really really bad) that season 4 ended up beeing the worst season of the show so far. To be honest, FTWD never was any good character- or storywise. This Clark family who ends up to destroy every safe place they've been to just makes me laugh. And the 4th season was the closet they can get to beeing a total trainwreck, again thanks to Mr. Scott Gimple, the man, the myth, the legend. This guy really knows how to throw shows into the trash. I'm really wondering how he got the job in the first place. Scott, if you read this, please tell me your secret!

Same TWD, same mistakes
TheDonaldofDoom22 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The plot thickens and characters continue to change, but this episode has a number of problems that make it less enjoyable than than the previous two. The first is that the plot that it concerns itself with doesn't stakes we care about as viewers. The killings of generic Saviors is something that's difficult for me to care about, even though it could jeopardise Rick's vision of a better world. And while the answer to who was killing the Saviors is a twist, I can't say it's a good one, because it involves a girl from Oceanside and a Savior, neither of which we know enough to care about. This is a recurring problem with this new season, throwing characters in purely as plot devices. We saw it in episode 1 with the boy who died, in episode 2 with the Savior who died, and now here again. As well as making it hard to have an emotional investment in the outcome, it smacks of sloppiness, as if the writers have been making the plot up as they go along rather than planning it out properly. It seems this whole "who killed the Savior?" plot was there to set Maggie and Daryl on a collision course with Rick.

Another gripe I have is just how unsubtle this show continues to be when dealing with its themes. Like okay, I don't expect a zombie show to be sublime but Rick and Michonne's conversation at the start was so forced. How Rick says "We're building a neeeeewww woooorld".

And I'm still not getting how Gabriel and Garbage Woman are in love. The scenes between them are so bizarre, honestly.

I still liked this, but TWD could be better if the writers didn't keep making similar mistakes. 7.4/10

It was a better episode, however...
intrepidami22 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
..I'm greatly bothered by Jadis/ Anne. Her motivations. Her agenda. Her words.

All I've ever seen about her is a person not to be trusted. How many times did she go back on deals? So she's got contact with this other place that's far superior to Alexandria, let alone her dump? Why isn't she already there?

Her disappointment that Gabriel wouldn't go along with her? What's she done to earn his trust? A single ride on the Jadis cartwheel? She just got done revealing to him she's in the human swapping for supplies business. This is going to make him all warm and fuzzy to her? She must think her hoo-hoo is magical if it's going to convince a priest to help her trade somebody for a ride to "paradise".

The justified rage of the Oceanside. Explaining that the saviors weren't killing for necessity, but enjoyed doing it.

There was a war. Ricks side won the war. You can't just let the WAR criminals go. A bunch of these people saviors were sadists. It's like winning a war against Hitler and then letting all his generals return to society. There's going to be reprisals.

Sure we got along with enemies after a war, Germany, Japan but not without getting rid of the "bad people".

It's quite clear that some of these Saviors were/still are bad people. It's just another folly to let organizers and dissenters go.

I'm not so sure how they just let the saviors group go. A. there's a lot of them. B. They don't know how to farm. C. pillagers going to pillage.

It's Time to See Negan
ThomasDrufke25 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
It's sad to hear that Rick Grimes will only appear in two more episodes as I'm still completely unsure how they are going to handle his exit and make it feel natural. But I'm really enjoying this season for many reasons, but it feels like they have gotten rid of the theatrics that swamped the show the last two seasons and gotten back to true human drama.

Tonight's episode had some deep dramatic moments. I always love the heart to hearts that Rick and Daryl share and tonight was no different, I'm sure going to miss those going forward. But my favorite scene was actually what came as the episode came to a close. Finding out that the members of Oceanside were the ones who were taking out the Saviors was a cool twist, and seeing Arat be executed by Cyndie in a deeply emotional sequence was incredibly satisfying. It's one of the few moments where I genuinely didn't know what was right and wrong. There is no judge or jury in this world, and it seems like there a few people who like to play executioner.

Some other noteworthy moments included Rick referencing leaving Meryl on the rooftop all the way back in season 1, Jadis/Anne taking out Gabriel after revealing she's been trading people, and Rick/Michonne have announced they are going to try and have a baby? While we don't know whether this season is an A or a B, it's been a very good start to what is going to be a very different look for the show after Rick/Maggie leave.

So What Did We Learn Tonight?
sevenlilxenos22 October 2018
Mags, Jadis, Oceanside chicks, even Carol back in the day, all say one thing to Rick's face, but when its convenient to them do another behind his back. This is why we don't have a woman president. Good thing Rick didn't kill Negan now that hes as good as gone.

Another solid episode from a rejuvenated team
ha77y73ad973 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
More interesting points are coming across from the series where we are getting more and more details of the Helicopters, also the letter that are being written to Maggie from the the group that gave them the manual at the end of the 8th series.

With the loss of a few members of the Saviors our team must track down what is going on for the bridge team and it turns out this is the Oceanside people that have been killing off major players of Negans brutal regime. With Maggie and Daryl finding the source of these disappearances and letting them carry on this the final execution and not letting Rick know whats happened here is show a para dime shift in the leadership of these groups.

The Walking Soap Opera. Lower the bar takedown. Zombie Reviewers - what a laugh, but it's only a cry
Bababooe22 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
To the Zombie Reviewers, if you think this show is great, you're either lying to yourself, or you're getting paid. This is a mediocre show at best. The bar has been lowered, below the barrel. As to why I still watch. It's like seeing a train wreck.

We are led to believe that between season 8 and 9, a year and a half has passed, and the communities of Alexandria, Hilltop, Kingdom, Oceanside and Saviorville are all working together in trade and trying to rebuild society. So far so good. Except, everyone is thriving but the Savys, who are pissed off and/or lazy hanging around in a warehouse waiting for food from the other communities, and their guns have been confiscated. And, our fearless leader, Emperor Rick has Neeg in a cage for occasional chats. Any problems with this scenario? Yes. No need to keep Neeg alive except for acting contracts and contrived story lines. In a real world Neeg would be dead, along with most of the Savys, not left in a warehouse to cause problems.

Rick decides to build the Bridge to help the communities. Mag has killed troublemaker Greg, and the Oceaners think this is the best time to take out the "bad" Savys. Is this a show about the dead walking? Or is this a show about people killing each other? People go walking around alone or in pairs in the woods like it's nothing. No danger of Zombies.

This is all some very basic story lines. Different communities. Revenge. Death. Conflict. Bar is low. What we have here is a show called The Walking Dead, but the dead are just a backdrop. They're not the focus of the show. The title is a lie. It should be called "Stupid People doing Stupid Things, by the way dead people are looking to eat you".

Here's what happened:

We find out in the opening that Justin (Mr. Savy, the agitator) is dead and being feasted on by walkers. Then suddenly the walkers walk away from their meal. Why? Isn't that what zombies want, meat? So, there you go the show can't even get that right. After the walkers walk away, dead Jus walks. Opening credits.

We see Rick waking up, Mich still sleeping. Normal life? Soap Opera. Rick walks down the stairs, the show hired some artists to put up the CORAL/Judith hand paint print on the deck on the wall. Rick picks a tomato and drops it on CORAL's grave. Later Rick walks in and Mich is working on the new constitution.

Mag with New Glen delivering food to the Savys. Some Savys stop her and stir some negativity. Later Mag discovers dead Jus, who looks like he was murdered with an arrow.

Rick, Mich and Judith playtime - Super Soap. Later interrupted by news that Jus was murdered by an arrow. Could it be Darrel?

At the bridge building camp, the Savys and the Rest almost come to blows. Rick puts a stop to it. This fight and death would have been great, especially if a bunch of the older actors ended it here. Later, Gabe lies to Rick saying that he and Jade were on watch all night. What happened to "Thou Shall not Lie". Gabe confronts Jade - Soap.

Rick asks Dar if he killed Jus? No. And here my friends are some of the best dialogue coming out of Dar's mouth: Dar questions Rick if it was best to bring all the communities together. Ask Glen, Abraham, and Sasha if they would agree? Rick: you didn't kill me, the guy who left your brother on a roof to die - Soap.

Mag Dar Rick and Carol find a knocked out Savior, and another Savy is missing. Another Rick speech to Carol - Soap. Apparently Rick wakes up every morning wanting to kill Neeg, then stops himself. Mag and Dar kill a walker, which happens to have another arrow stuck in it, and now Dar knows who's doing the killing.

Jady at the Junkyard. You can take Jady out of the Junkyard. But you can't take the Junk out of Jady. She calls on a walky to the helicopter people, something about A or B. Gabe followed her. Jady asks Gabe to come with her to a better place, but can't tell Rick. Gabe says no. Jady knocks him out as an A. This is all fine and good, but not great. The helicopter people are a set up for more episodes. But Jady taking off alone, and Gabe following her alone, that's just ridiculous.

A couple of Savys ambush Carol and hold a knife to her neck. Rick pulls a gun on them. Carol stabs the Savy in the shoulder. He asks why they won't kill them. Rick says "All life counts" - more Soap. Kill/No Kill. Morgan anyone?

Mag and Dar find the lost Savy. She's being held by the Oceaners ready for execution. They tell Mag because she hung Greg they are now imposing their justice for the atrocities the Savy imposed on them. Mag and Dar walk away as the Oceaners execute the Savy. Mag then tells Dar it's time we see Neeg.

Ok, so the Oceaners use Mags example of killing Greg for their killing of the Savys. Any problem with this? Yes. Tons. These people are trying to build a freaking bridge. Is this the best time to impose revenge? My vote would have been to take out all or most of the Savys at the end of the war. But now, these Oceaners decide on their own to take out individuals, no hearing or trial. No problem with that?

This show is a joke. Last episode they had Jus attacked, and now we find out it's the Oceaners. Great. Where are the zombies. This is just a simpleton Soap Opera.
