These episodes of "The ZhuZhus", for how horrible this show is, are some of the "best" episodes in the collection. "Weathering Heights" is a weak episode about storms and "The Trashing of Zhuper Girl" is the most watchable out of the 4 "Zhuper Girl" episodes. If you care for the ranking, it would go: "The Trashing of Zhuper Girl", "Zhuper Girl", "Zhuper Zhide Kicks", with the worst being "Zhuper Girl In A Jam".
These episodes are some of the weirdest yet most notable things I've watched in a long time. Including the majority of episodes from "The ZhuZhus", "Weathering Heights" has many problems.
The biggest annoyance in this episode is the characters. Frankie and the ZhuZhus in this episode do not do a good job of acting like children afraid and exaggerating storms, which makes them just come off as annoying by going to extremes by breaking logic from digging into concrete and buying (potentially stealing) over 100 bags of rice just for the ridiculous possibility of lava. It's handled in the wrong way because of the many annoyances and the absolutely boring nature of the repetitive episode's concepts.
In general, the characterization of some of the characters in both (mostly "Weathering Heights") of these episodes in very disappointing and just comes off as weak writing to fit the episode's boring plot (ex: Olga in "Miss Pataki: Student Teacher" from "Hey Arnold!"), especially Nums Nums though. Her worrying in a lot of episodes can get very grating, even when she stopped being Num Nums in "Your Days Are Num Num Numbered" she was really annoying, but times like these are just uncalled for her panicking.
The episode also has many nitpick-y problems. Some examples are that the jokes don't land and the episode is mostly just boring brain mush that stimulates someone as much as a Cocomelon video. It is all around just weird, the most simple way to put this episode.
4/10, I don't want to know what the staff smoke.
"The Trashing of Zhuper Girl" is the best out of the 4 Zhuper Girl episodes. This is one of the only episodes (along with "Zhurassic Park") that is close to decent. For the other episodes in this arc (?)... "Zhuper Girl" had its moments, but was somewhat boring, "Zhuper Zhide Kicks" was absolute garbage, and "Zhuper Girl in a Jam" is awful because of how annoying the Gelato Twins are. This episode is the best of "The ZhuZhus" just in terms of how ironically humorous it is to me, it's right up my alley in terms of how corny it is.
This episode has quite a lot of notably strange moments, especially from the Zhus and the background characters. A lot of them are ironically funny because of the really bad delivery or just because the absolutely stupid line spoken. It has that "corny superhero episode" feel to it, and this one is really enjoyable for that reason alone as I am a big fan of watching badly made cartoons for entertainment.
The majority of the episode is okay enough. Frankie spends most of the picking up trash in a goofy way by scaring and calling random people out for their littering; it reminded me of an episode from my favorite show, "Brandy & Mr. Whiskers". This episode has some beats taken from the original "Zhuper Girl" episode, but to a very small degree. An example being the identity of Zhuper Girl aspect, which is not overdone like it was in "Zhuper Girl", just some one liners in this episode dumbly thrown in as they have zero purpose in story progression and this episode's main plot.
Madge, the worst character in the show, later comes in and where the bad characterization comes in as she's the only one getting that treatment. Madge is a naturally spoiled and hateful person who outright hates Frankie for zero reasons shown. In this episode, she goes from hating Frankie's drip to being jealous of Frankie for getting attention and goes to tarnish her reputation that was established only a day before in the episode's time. It comes out of nowhere and makes Madge feel somewhat forced in as the main antagonist just because they need some sort of big bad in the Zhuper Girl episodes. Even Girl Beard in "Zhuper Zhide Kicks" was better, and that was just Frankie in a costume!
There's a lot of forced stuff in this episode. The end fight especially for how fast it goes by and how oblivious everyone else is to Madge pretending to be Frankie/Zhuper Girl. It was all very funny and facepalm worthy at the same time.
6/10, same conflicting opinion like I wrote in my review of "Snow Escape" from "The Loud House". Scores average to a 4.5/10.
