Ahsoka Is Back
iplagerquist9620 March 2020
The good thing about this episode is Ahsoka is back! The bad thing is everything else is just ok. We get a few memorable moments and lines with Ahsoka which brings would would be a mediacore episode up to a good one. I wish the first episode in Ahsoka's arc was better but I still can't wait to see where this leads. Based off the trailers we are in for one hell of a ride!

Pointless....

Honestly don't understand why we're getting filler episodes when we're only getting 12 episodes. And we're getting 3 more of these I would take the Yoda on Kashyyyk arc or the Bounty Hunter arc over this boring story. Great we've seen Ahsoka cope with life now she's no longer a Jedi. One episode was enough time to actually move onto stuff that adds to the story. Especially when the Siege of Mandalore arc is gonna be mostly centred around Ahsoka anyway.

Season 1 quality of fillers.
ultroks21 March 2020
Overall its not too bad but still waste of episode, would have been a fine if we were getting 24 episodes rather than 12... The voice acting for the two new characters was bad and unipsiring. A too much of ''Disney'' feel to it so far... Introduction of 1313 was nice detail tho.

Perfectly describes me going to bed after this arc is over...

I see where the writers were trying to go with this one. Seeing Ahsoka trying to find a new life is fairly interesting, but this may not have been the way to go about it? It isn't really that bad of an episode, but do we really need filler stuff in the FINAL season?

The Wrong Jedi Becomes a Grey Jedi...
linussundvall-0522122 March 2020
Basically the only thing to take in from this episode is the fact that our beloved Togruta Ahsoka is back. People are hating on this episode because it lacks story and tension. Most arcs do start out like this and this is no different. No this was not a great episode but you have to remember that this is only the first episode of this arc and doesn't have much to offer except for Ahsoka and her new "friends". 7/10.

Slow, but entertaining episode
jerbearq28 March 2020
Gorgeous animation and well-made action aren't quite enough to fully save this episode from its largely uninteresting plot that seems to lead no where for the coming episodes, though the character development for Ahsoka is much appreciated

Ahsoka moves on.
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic7 October 2020
As it is the final season of Clone Wars it is a little odd that they chose to have a 4 part clone adventure followed by a 4 part adventure with Ahsoka finding new friends. It is understandable some fans felt there should be more vital content at this stage, in fact most fans including me would say that more important things could have been covered.

In addition to that this is a huge change in tone from the heartbreaking exit of Ahsoka in Season 5. We now get a lightweight adventure with more humour and less intense drama. Some probably felt let down by that too.

However, this 4 part arc is actually a really fun, enjoyable adventure. The characters are slightly cliched in a way but then most film and TV characters are and in this case they are well created. Their personalities are well presented and entertaining. The Trace sisters are pretty good, well acted characters and the great animation helps with their expressions and gestures really well done adding to their quality.

Ahsoka has sadness but also her fiery spirit pushing her on and it is important we got to see her move on.

While I would have preferred more dark Sith/Anakin episodes if you take this on its own merits it is a fun story. This episode is mainly just setting up what follows but is a pleasant introduction.

My rating: 7/10.

good start!
davidhchang20 March 2020
A beautiful episode and while the tension feels lacking at times it's alright because it is still the first episode of the arc which is usually the least good. a great start which shows ashoka after leaving the jedi order and showing her life. good start, and i wonder what more will come

Necessary

We haven't seen Ashoka in awhile, if they were to just reintroduce her like nothing ever happened it would be weird, we needed to see what happened in her down time and I think this was a more than okay episode to do that.

Pointless Filler
ljlultimate3 April 2020
Don't get me wrong, I was excited for Ahsoka's return however this episode was just plain boring. I didn't expect there to be fillers in the final season of a brilliant show like the Clone Wars yet here we are. Uninspiring new characters with no plot or direction.

Another great episode in a fantastic season thus far. One of the most gorgeous looking animated Star Wars episodes I've ever seen. The attention to detail this season really is a gift to Star Wars fans!

"Gone with a Trace"
lassegalsgaard3 April 2020
So, after Ahsoka left in the fifth season, and the series was cancelled, I honestly thought we were done with her. She didn't have a single appearance in the sixth season that was released on Netflix, and her only other appearance outside of this show was a guest role on "Star Wars Rebels." However, we are getting her back in this season, and this was her first episode back. While I don't think the episode ranks amongst the top, I do think it was highly entertaining. It had some nice action sequences, starting off with a malfunctioning speeder bike that made for a visually stunning sequence, as well as a hunt through the lower levels of Coruscant that was really impressive. The new characters are fun and seem like they could become regulars going forward, but I do think that the episode was missing that component to really make it memorable. Maybe it was the lack of other characters, or maybe Ahsoka just isn't a fully-developed lead yet. Nonetheless, I found the episode entertaining and I did appreciate the new characters and the gorgeous animation that this new season has.

Felt To Much Like the Current Kid's Shows
norexus30 March 2020
I want to preface this with acknowledging that this is a show made for kids rather than adults. That being said the feel of the TV show from previous seasons has been much more mature than most current kids shows. This episode, however, was rather goofy, cringy, and awkward. I found myself thinking that this reminded me of the 'nothing but filler' kids TV shows that are out today, with a star wars twist. I was very disappointment, and to be honest led me to start off on a bad food with the new character. I liked Ahsoka's character a lot in the previous season and was interested in seeing where this season would take her. I personally feel that this wasn't a good start. I hope it gets better.

Imagine You Had One Day to Spend Aboard a Smuggler's Spaceship...
benwardhcos29 March 2020
Imagine there was a TV series that focused on Han Solo's daily life on the Millennium Falcon. Now imagine it took place during the years of the Galactic Republic with Han and Chewie replaced by Ashoka and seemingly generic sisters with crazy hair.

Welcome to Clone Wars Season 7 Episodes 5-6 (and likely more when they're released).

It's slow, dialogue heavy (for The Clone Wars), and the plot takes its sweet time deciding which direction it wants to go.

Despite this, I found it to be one of the best Clone Wars episodes I've seen (and I've seen 'em all... many, many times). Obviously there are many people who disagree with me, and that's completely fair. In fact, I think the mixed ratings are indicative of the very different audiences who watch Clone Wars. To work with this, I'm splitting my review into two categories:

You won't like this if: You're here for the frantic clone action, Jedi Knights styling on droids, and epic space battles. If that's what you like, this definitely isn't the episode for you. In many ways this doesn't actually belong to a "Clone Wars" TV series. Short and sweet: if you like the action, you won't like this episode.

You'll like this if: You like the idea of spending a good long while watching the daily life of a couple smugglers. There are boring moments and exciting moments. Repairs need to be made, rent is due, and if you're going to make a living at this, you're probably going to have to strike a deal with that sleazy crime lord and his thugs. There are morally complex decisions which cause characters to make decisions they don't want to make, and consequences when they try to do the right thing. I'm all about the stories, and slow plotlines don't bother me at all as long as they're well put together. For me it was an absolutely fascinating episode and I absolutely loved it!

If you made it to the end, thanks for reading! Hope it helped!

Hope this helps!

Good writing and character development
s_yancey21 March 2020
This episode was really fun and i was left wanting more. Ahoska is back and its awesome. I think they wrote the new characters very well too because i was already able to understand their motives after one episode.

Overall It was pretty enjoyable

Misplaced haters reviews
pocketkings876 May 2020
This is the beginning of a great arc. Many reviews are saying it has no plot or character development. They just don't understand what plot or char. dev. means and/or are just mad at the fact that these episodes are a spin-off of the usual clone and Jedi order plot line. This episode is the beginning of a great stand alone arc. The characters are relatable and the plot develops very believable and pulls you in to see how the arc wraps up. You just can't expect this and following episode to fit in with the preceding ones. Don't hate just because it not what you expected and have an open-mind to watch something that expands how things were in the Star Wars universe during these times.

Forgettable.
matthewwatts-3541328 March 2020
Not the worst episode in the shows history, but far from the best. There's people saying this ruined their childhood but I disagree but I was hoping there would be a bit more effort put into every episode considering it's the last season and there's only 12 episodes however this feels like a filler arc. It was nice seeing Ahsoka again but that doesn't carry a whole episode, in typical Disney fashion it feels as if no one's really trying.

Gone with a Trace
kaden_lewis4 January 2022
In March of 2021, I decided to watch Star Wars for the first time. I chose to watch it in the timeline order, and watch everything, including the cartoons. I am so happy I did, because with the exception of Star Wars Resistance, they were all amazing. But my favorite is 100% Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It is just amazing. I didn't have my IMDb account at the time, so I couldn't review it. That is why I decided to re watch one of my favorite seasons, season 7, and review it.

This was a solid episode. It picks up very closely after the season 5 finale when Ahsoka left the Jedi because they didn't have her trust. It has been 7 years, and 17 episodes since she has been on the screen in Clone Wars, so they naturally had to show us what she has been up to. That is why even though this upcoming series of four wasn't the greatest, it was 100% necessary for her story. She meets two sisters in the underworld of Coruscant, Trace and Rafa Martez who she goes on a mission with in the rest of the series of four. The chase Ahsoka and Trace had with the demolition droid was also pretty entertaining, and the highlight of the episode.

A 100% cast of strong female characters..
bjp_Gr24 May 2020
In the tradition of that talentless hack at Disney who screwed every star wars show up she touched, also in this show screw a good plot, we need a crew of only strong female characters who fight against bad male characters. What a boring drag. When is Disney going to realise that Kathleen Kennedy is destroying the franchise.

A very enjoyable episode that was quite different than most and provided some very nice world building for coruscant.
