Inspiring

As a child at a Catholic school, I remember hearing the name Mother Cabrini. I did not remember much about her. I came across this movie on EWTN. The real life nun started out life in Italy where the film begins with Cabrini already a nun. I wished to see more of her childhood and the process of her becoming a nun. She is asked by the officials of the church in Italy to travel to America to help with the struggling immigrant community in New York City of the late 1800's. Racism is nothing new, as the foreigners are treated like dirt by the citizen's as low lifes with another language. Cabrini set up schools and orphanages against almost impossible odds. The male dominated church had a problem with a strong and independent woman. In the end she succeeded and eventually was made a saint. The story is an inspiring one and the acting here all top rate. I highly recommend Mother Cabrini as a good escape from all the negative news we are subjected to every day.

the fights

Easy to appreciate it for acting, cinematography or way to define the social situation and the struggles of a Catholic nun for the poor people.

But its basic virtue is the message.

More powerful maybe, for XXI century than for late XIX one. Because the film proposes fair reflection , from honest perspectives, about sensitive subjects, from the integration of immigrants and their acceptance by majority to the status of courageous , energetic young woman in a society dominated by men.

The result, a beautiful, in profound sense, film , about courage, determination and high care about other , about compassion and intense fights for profound noble purpoise.

Much more than I expected

Just an amazing woman with determination. I believe that without her, this country/world would not even as beautiful as it is. My take away,

"Women who strive to be like men, lack ambition "

The repeated "No's" that she encountered from the men of the day did not stop her, I felt like the constant "you don't belong here " comments gave her more drive and determination. I feel like this is exactly what our up and coming generation is lacking and need to experience the hardships and see what she witnessed maybe in order to develop the determination required to succeed today and in the future or they may not make it.

Cabrini was an inspiration to our children and our communities I like the way she faithfully explained her story despite the fact that people were so afraid and ignorance was shown to her and the nuns. Continue to pray for strength support for her unloved children regardless what was said to her in a nasty way.she continues to fight for their safety and their lives especially what she was going through with her own health.she definitely fortfor her children to she got what she needed for her unwanted children and young adults.she was very supportive of her lost loved ones until she was finally went to heaven.

Superb cinematic production!

I saw this movie last week and I'm still thinking about it. The message is powerful about a nun who stood up to the forces of institutions in the late 1900's Italy and America in her driving vision to raise the poor to a level of self-respect and independence. The scripting was raw and realistic. The acting was second to none. The cinematography was dynamic. All these elements came together perfectly pulling the audience into the time, place, and environment that tested the strength of character of her superiors and protagonists. One just didn't know how this vision was going to manifest. Inspiring, absolutely. Motivating certainly. Entertaining, without question. I'd like to see more movies like this.
