“Harry Potter” star Tom Felton is currently filming the series “Gandhi,” where he plays Josiah Oldfield, the future Mahatma’s friend in London.
Part of the series, produced by Sameer Nair for India’s Applause Entertainment and directed by Hansal Mehta, follows the young Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi when he was in London to study law and missing vegetarian food. It examines how Gandhi’s chance discovery of a vegetarian restaurant brings him to the lesser-known Vegetarian Society of London, of which Oldfield is one of the founders. This chance meeting proves to be formative for Gandhi, as it is Oldfield who first discovers the writer in him and encourages him to pen articles for the Vegetarian Magazine.

Jonah Hill is stepping behind the camera again with another topic close to his heart. After his 2018 directorial debut Mid90s, which was an autobiographical look at a young boy’s coming of age amongst a group of skaters, Hill will be directing a documentary for Netflix about therapy, using his own therapist as the focus. Wes Studi, Q’orianka Kilcher and Tatanka Means will star in “Canyon Del Muerto,” the new film from writer and director Coerte Voorhees.
The movie is based on the true story of one of America’s first female archaeologists, Ann Axtell Morris, who spent years uncovering civilizations in the southwest and Mexico. Axtell Morris was married to Earl Halstead Morris, who was a primary inspiration for Indiana Jones.
The film also stars David Midthunder, alongside previously announced Abigail Lawrie (who plays Axtell Morris), Tom Felton (as Earl), Ewen Bremner, Bronson Webb, Elias Koteas and Val Kilmer.
