Very promissing start

I am a great fan of Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Vicky Jones. First things first, Merritt Weaver is really amazing, she's very entertaining to watch and has an amazing chemistry with Domhnall Gleeson, they're pretty solid as the leads.

The plot moves fast, the writing is sharp, the dialogue is witty and it's nice to know more about the character and the motivations as they go along. I am excited to see where the series will go next.

Pretty good for a first episode.

Warning: Spoilers
So far this show is pretty entertaining.

I thought I was supposed to know why she was nervous when she received the first message, and ended up spoiling it a little after looking up the series plot online. For people who don't know the premise of the show, the first scene can be a little confusing (where she's in her car), but this series is good so far.

I don't see it having a bunch of seasons unless there's major unique plot twists, however, but even one full season of this would be nice.

Merritt Weaver does a good job (I've always liked her, first seeing her in Welcome to Marwin), and so does the other dude who's name I don't know.

Looking forward to it.

Meh

Merritt Weaver is great in everything but I'm not sure if she can hold a full season of this based off the first episode. Her guy character love interest is robot like and the first episode ran a bit boring. So far just meh.

Run
Prismark1016 April 2020
I have a simple rule for anything that is shown on a comedy channel.

It should be funny or else it is a breach of the trade description.

Billed as being from the makers of Fleabag. Creator Vicky Jones was the script editor for Fleabag. I take this to mean she did not write the jokes.

The first episode is a woman who receives a text with the word 'run.'

She leaves her life behind which includes husband and kids and meets up with an old flame on a train.

It seems Ruby and Billy once made a pact about getting away from their lives if it got too boring.

On the train they talk, flirt, bicker and play pranks on each other. Whatever it is, it did not pass for humour.

"Humdrum" (they got that right!)
loren-hess-638-87647927 April 2020
A humdrum story about a pathetic woman trying to escape her humdrum life. A basic necessity of any story is compelling characters. Make them likable, make them despicable, make them SOMETHING that captivates the audience All we have here in "RUN" is annoying. I hardly made it through the first episode, but somehow I did. And I could not care any less about what happens to these two puerile bores. This show is a train wreck (pun intended).

Two stars: one for each wretched character.
