Definitely an odd one
arnovo-330006 December 2019
This episode is bizarre in the sense that it shows one of the many possible scenarios of what could've happened if Frankie and Grace hadn't decided to live together. Many comments mention that the episode is not good but I disagree. I think it's just misplaced. It should be the first episode of season 6. It would've been a funny way to start a new season following the events in season 5. But the fact that they decided it to be ep.13 makes me assume that the writers and producers didn't know if the show would be renewed for another season. It's just an odd way of ending the season since it's not how they ended the previous ones. However it's still a nice episode that shows how beneficial the frendship is for Frankie and Grace.

Really strange episode but I see what they were going for
DoctorThotcer4 March 2019
The main issue I had with this episode is it's confusing as heck, took me quite a while to realise what was going on, but once I got it I got it. This is a 'what if' episode of 'if Grace and Frankie hadn't cohabited and learnt from one another' (happening as a self reflective flashback to what could have been), consequently Frankie, having never learnt from Grace how to be more independent and pragmatic, has basically become a tiresome hippy hanger-on, where-as Grace, without Frankie's influence, has become a cold and hard hearted plastic faced rich biatch, grasping for anything she can carry to fill the emptiness in her heart.

We also see how everyone else isn't doing so well, there's a lot of bad vibes going round, and we explore all kinds of consequences.

When we've known them as such well rounded, caring and giving people in the rest of the show, seeing Grace and Frankie as their worst selves is really hard, particularly Grace who is just beyond repulsive, so I can understand why it's not well liked by other reviewers, but it makes its point quite vividly.

They need one another and the world needs them.

An idea copy from "F.R.I.E.N.D.S"
meli_na_cy21 April 2020
The writer of this show was also writing for FRIENDS series too and i see a lot of "stolen" lines . I don't like that . Get new jokes .

I love this series but this episode is a "stolen" idea from FRIENDS and to be honest not good delivered.

The Perfect Episode
TanQ15 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I've watched this three times already. I can't believe how hilarious it is. It's a self-skewering episode that reminds you exactly who the queens of comedy are. There's a lot to unpack in this episode, every line sizzles like an early-bird steak dinner. Having George Hamilton as the guest star was great. Not having the story focus on him was brilliant. The ways he was sent out of each scene he was in is the perfect send up to every sit-com where the guest becomes the centre of attention. The jokes fly by fast and subtly. It took me two viewings to get "starfish napkin rings" and I'll forever use "once my face settles you'll see exactly how happy I am." The make-up is pure artistry. Jane Fonda doing Jane Fonda drag is epic. Coyote and Bud doing WIDTHS of the pool is brilliant. I really can't see how people would rate this so poorly. I'm guessing that they're looking for some dramady schlock rather than an actual fun episode. Every character shines and there's never a flat moment. It re-invigorated the series for me. Instead of the forced ending of the previous season we actually get the fun that I fell in love with when I started watching. Kudos, cast and crew, you've done something risky and brilliant!

Not the strongest episode but does serve a purpose....
marshmellowpeeps23 January 2019
This was not the strongest episode, but some of the other reviews were written under incorrect assumptions. This episode does not take place at another point in time, but rather is centered around contemplation on how Grace and Frankie's lives could have turned out if their friendship had not been, coming after both women have been growing increasingly frustrated with their shared lives in recent episodes. This may not have been the best place in the season order to have an "It's a Wonderful Life" style episode and more time could have been spent developing the questions as to how their real lives will progress. This episode did have some fun moments and really does not deserve as low of ratings as many have given it.

Was this a "The Producers"?
dandanthelightingman16 April 2019
Truly awful episode. Where most of G&F, which I have adored, is about two people overcoming their differences, this was spitefully parodying them. Where most is sensitive in handling difficult issues (sexuality, addiction, betrayal, toxic relationships), this episode was riddled with punching-down nastiness. I genuinely wish I had not watched this episode, and if this is what the writers think is ok, i hope there isnt a season 6. It was so crass, and so lazy, that I felt it was deliberately crashing the show into a wall.

Enjoyed the first 12 episodes

Some very funny moments in this series and story line. Obviously they finished an episode early and ran out of ideas.

Pointless end to a good series

Sorry, I Thought It Was a Mess
Hitchcoc29 April 2019
Obviously, they have to get things set up for the next season. Sadly, this is what they came up with. I did like that they brought in Mr. Perpetual tan, George Hamilton, to be a bit of a buffoon, but it doesn't save anything. The whole dream sequence (or whatever you call it) is tiresome and not very funny. With her facelift, Jane looked like Charro. Frankie was just vicious and irrational. No really funny lines at all. I'm interested to see what's in store for next year, if there is a next year.

Worst episode ever
director-1392 February 2019
After a very strong episode 12, this episode felt like a filler. It would've been better to leave the fractured relationship as a cliffhanger rather than trying to wrap it up with this absolutely nonsensical episode. I was very disappointed and in fact angry enough to want to throw something at the TV set. Shame on the producers for allowing this episode to happen.

Wow
sparkleaudreysparkle2 April 2019
This episode wasn't needed at all, the season was amazing as usual and should have ended with episode 12. That's all!

That's it, I'm sad now.
farfadet_w23 February 2019
I always tought that an episode like that is a sign of what's coming next... and it's usually disappointing. I love this show since the beginning but the complete season 5 was weird and odd. I'm afraid that Grace and Frankie will soon turn in bad caricatures in senseless situations. I felt that the momentum of the first seasons vanished into thin air because the characters moved on and are now settled in their life. I really hope they'll raise up their game because I'm not ready to give up on them... yet.

Painful to watch
MegaMaexn16 February 2019
This episode is supposed to portray what life for Grace and Frankie would have been under different circumstances, but the only thing it does show is the poor writing and lack of ideas the writers get paid for. Example needed? - Having a 'Brianndy' to drink? Really?!? This could have been quirky, funny and a great season finale, but the only thing it really is, is sad, ludicrous and making you wish that you'll never have to watch this show again....

The humor of the show has never been especially arch... this last installment of the 5th season felt nasty and pointless

¿What?
barnabas-0060522 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The episode was just simply uncalled for. Something like this might have worked as a forgivable almost half-decent filler somewhere around mid-season. At least that would have payed off, because then we could have had the wedding episode as an actual fitting season finale. This episode was exceptionally poorly written, the actors did a surprisingly bad job portraying their characters' past selves and, except for Grace's big announcement in the very last second, NOTHING ACTUALLY HAPPENED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FINALE! I'm confused about the writers' decisions and I'm very disappointed.

Why did such a good series end in such a distasteful way? Clearly something went wrong with the crew or cast

Atrocious Ending!
AnneMarieat4920 January 2019
I've thoroughly enjoyed all 5 series of Grace and Frankie but this final episode was not only confusing to follow but came across as absolute drivel. Such a shame to end such an outstanding programme on such a low note.

Disappointed with Final Episode
aman0109198620 January 2019
I thought there will be any forward story to watch but this episode clearly make me sick, looking at the characters and they just tried to make this Episode just for the sale of making it, it is not recommended, I wish I didn't watched it.
