• Peter Stone : So the way this usually works is, first there's a crime, and then we go to court and we nail the person that did it.

  Olivia Benson : We can't tell if there's a crime until we know who the father is.

  Peter Stone : We think it was an adult?

  Olivia Benson : She won't say, and unless we can get her to take a paternity test, then we won't know who the father is and we don't know if she was raped.

  Peter Stone : You realize her attorney's going to argue some form of "my body, my choice"?

  Olivia Benson : She's 13 years old, Peter.

  Peter Stone : And then we're gonna get hit with a heavy dose of her right to privacy.

  Olivia Benson : Is there a chance? Just... is there even a chance?

  Peter Stone : As long as judges are human, there's a chance.

• Olivia Benson : Hey, Stone got the motion put on tomorrow's calendar.

  Amanda Rollins : Good for you.

  Olivia Benson : Well, don't be so excited about it.

  Amanda Rollins : What I meant was, Liv, is it's good for you. I'm not so sure how good it is for Mackenzie.

  Olivia Benson : There's a chance that we're looking at statutory rape.

  Amanda Rollins : There's a chance we're not. I mean, Dreyfus offered up his DNA. Well, what can I say? It makes my skin crawl a little bit thinking about a court violating a minor's privacy. You know, because let's say for the sake of argument that the father is Zack or Jake or some other middle schooler. Why ruin his life too?

  Olivia Benson : I didn't know a baby ruined anyone's life.

  Amanda Rollins : You know what I mean. You know, maybe she... she's... she's keeping the burden off another 13-year-old. Maybe she's being righteous by by keeping him in the dark.

  Olivia Benson : And if it's a 40-year-old drama teacher?

  Amanda Rollins : I mean, did you? Did I what? Yeah, when you were pregnant, did you let the father know before you...

  Olivia Benson : Before I what?

  Amanda Rollins : You're making me say it? We were standing right here and you told me that you had an abortion.

  Olivia Benson : I know that, but you were vulnerable and Garrett took advantage of that.

  Peter Stone : And it's completely foreseeable that a stepfather would take vengeance against the man sexually preying on his stepdaughter.

  Olivia Benson : Especially when the two of you are so close.

• Olivia Benson : Mackenzie, I need to talk to you about something.

  Mackenzie Tolliver : No, I can't. Not right now.

  Olivia Benson : Sweetie, it's important. I'm not sure that you're telling me the truth about Mr. Dreyfus.

  Mackenzie Tolliver : I am.

  Olivia Benson : Okay. Well, then, would you mind telling me exactly how it happened. All right? You said that you didn't know his name and you said that you met in Whole Foods.

  Mackenzie Tolliver : Well, I didn't want to get him in trouble.

  Olivia Benson : Well, that's understandable, but I think maybe there's somebody else that you don't want to get in trouble.

  Mackenzie Tolliver : You're clueless.

  Olivia Benson : Well, then clue me in. Mackenzie, do you feel safe when you're at home with Garrett?

  Mackenzie Tolliver : He's not gonna hurt me. Wait, you think he put this baby in me?

  Olivia Benson : Did he?

  Mackenzie Tolliver : It was Mr. Dreyfus. Now that he's dead, I can't even prove it.

  Olivia Benson : Well, we don't think that it was him. And if Garrett killed Dreyfus because of your lie...
